My take on what I watched: These are the guys from each team that have shots at making the squad.

    1st the Clippers…

Blake Griffin: He was the most impressive player to me, out there. He showed everything we knew about him before, he was a hustler, a rebounder, and a scorer down low. Make impressive plays offensively with his quickness and athleticism and even showed the ability to handle the ball. He made a 3 pointer too, which impressed me alot. He could stand to improve his bball IQ a little though. He is a bad defender from what I saw too, he lacks awareness. Gave up alot of backdoors and wasnt always there on the weakside. But he looking like a man amongst boys for the most part. 27 pts, 12 boards.

Eric Gordon: Looked good out there. He didnt shoot alot of jumpers, he took it to the rack and drew contact to get to the line.He was 11-12 from the stripe. Played good D. Looks like he has a bright future. 21 pts, 3 stls.

Mike Taylor: Athletic and quick. Wasnt looking for his offense though, played like a true PG. Probably doing that because of coaches, they know he can score. He played just ok, probably below average, but he is an NBA player. Good backup PG. 6pts, 5 assts, but 4 to’s.

DeAndre Jordan: Played GREAT offensively, especially moving w/o the ball. That jump hook he has is his go-to move. Everyone who knows bball knows this but I had to mention it again: Jordan has PHENOMONAL phyiscal skills. He moved great and has gotten biggger, by (my guess) around 10 pounds. He was rewarded numerous times on the pick and roll, and make athletic finishes around the rim. He looked good, man. Real good. 16 pts and 5 reb

Dionte Christmas: He was awful. He looks like an NBDL, Europe kind of guy. He played a few minutes, but he was out there for no reason. 4 pts.

Kyle McAlarney: He played PG for the time he was out there, for the 1st time I’d ever seen. He showed that he cant create his own offense. He looked slow but he is a sound passer who executed the plays, nothing more.. nothing less. Well thats of course if you dont mention the time he threw the ball directly at Mustafa Shakur when he was in his face for an easy lay-in. He did make his only three by way of moving wothout the ball on a screen, with a hand in his face. Doesnt look like he will make the team, but he does look like he has a career overseas. 3 pts, 5 assts.

    Now the Lakers:

Adam Morrison: Was their best player, kind of by default. He is the only even decent player. He showed a mid range game, but if he got the ball, one thing is for sure, he will try to score and never look to pass. Still is a bad defender, very slow footed on D. Hasnt improved much so he is still the likely 11th or 12th man for the Lake show.. 21 pts and 6 boards.

Chinemelu Elonu: Yea, he is painfully raw offensively other than making cuts to the rim but his length makes him a slightly nice factor defensively and rebounding. He is a DJ Mbenga clone, take it how you want. 8 pts 7 rebs, and a gazillion fouls. lol

He played bad…Hes too out of control! all he knows is one speed and he gets himself in too much trouble and turns the ball over way too much

I said he had a below average game. Im not willing to bash him because he did make some good passes, but he didnt play as good as I saw him play at times in the regular season last year.

I am Really Disappointed with Dionte Christmas…..I thought this guy was going to be pretty good and alot of teams were going to be pretty sad they passed up on him……but he really isn’t backing my words up and other guys that have hope for the temple star

I thought he would be a good shooter in summer league at least. He might not make it to training camp.

i agree is igudala 99percent..the one bad thing for jordan is his rebounds and blks..he only had 5 and didnt blk any shots..he is a very high jumper but he doesnt seem to be a great shot blocker (going by this and his 1blks a game last year)..needs to work on his defense and get more then one post move but he should be able to get that in the next 2 years since hes only 20…..im suprised CLIPPPERS hasnt come on here and overhype the clips..lol….im interested to see the next game against some quality big men

He isnt a good defender or rebounder yet, and he isnt a good passer. He has plenty of weaknesses, but he has improved from last year and he is super improved from college. He has a way to go though still.

here is my opinion on todays game:

mike taylor: not the best of games for him but he will rebound tomorrow as he will try and slow it down. i think his nerves and anxiousness got to him.

DJ: he was great. he is now at 280 as he gained 15 pounds of muscle this offseason! also, those post moves were a great sign of whats to come in the future. the blocks will come with time in the summer league as he did plenty of that last summer league so it was just a one game fluke.

BG: BEAST. he graded himself out as a B minus. wow, he should be good.

EJ: okay performance, ya it was a 21 point game but it was not a WOW game. he just sat back and let others get theirs as he only took 11 shots and just focused on facilitating since he is already proven.
