KHAM83Participantdue to work I’ve been unable to keep up with summer league results. Can y’all fill me in on a few players?
I’ve seen that mkg had a heat debute and shot pretty well. Did he keep it up?
How’s Rivers, Waiters, Drummond, Perry Jones (did he get hurt?) Lilliard, Moutrie, Harkless, Zeller, T-Rob.
Any lottery picks not doing well?
Any late picks looking like late round gems? Thanks for filling me in!

Tight ButtholeParticipantI just spent $5 on NBA.COM to stream and watch all the Summer League Games. It also lets you go back and watch games you missed. If you dont feel like forking over the $5, you can get on the same site to look at game the stats from all the games.

ChewyParticipant– MKG and Barnes are studs
-T Rob is much quicker than I thought. Will SAC "Marcus Fizer" him ie: force a 4 man to play 3 just cuz he is athletic.
– Hassan Whiteside and Ed Davis have filled out and put on some muscle
-Quincy Acy is going to make it in the league
– Rockets had a better draft than I ever expected. All 3 guys are playing really well.
– Brad Beal is the perfect compliment to Wall
– Klay Thompson is really really good
– Dontas Montajunes is a very good shooter for his size and isn’t as soft as I expected him to be.
– Jeff Taylor got hosed. He is definetly a 1st rounder
– Goudelock can shoot, but I haven’t seen him do anything else.
– Jenkins can get his shot off in the NBA. Already ahead JJ Reddick in that way. (JJ is my closest comparision for John)
– MKG is the least suprising player since Brand came into the league. He is doing EXACTLY what everyone thought he would: Defense, rebounds, hustle, drive the lane.

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantCan’t really say Monta is a very good shooter yet, you must have missed his second game. That’s how you can tell a good shooter or good player, consistantcy. Doing it once is easy. Continuing to do it not so much

ChewyParticipantI did miss the 2nd game. I’m assuming he did not shoot well. In the first game he looked comfortable shooting out there, so I’m thinking that can be a big part of his game after a year or two of NBA level training.

jiggawhatParticipantWhile I believe Jenkins can succeed at the NBA level to say he can get a shot off against NBA defense is silly because this is a rookie/sophomore summer league. This ain’t nothing compared to what he’ll face in the regular season

ChewyParticipantIs Jenkins has a very quick release and if his defender even has to help one step off him that is enough for him to shoot and shoot well. I don’t think he is gunna back down a defender like Kobe or cross someone over like Wade, but as a spot up shooter he can be effective from day one against real NBA teams.
Reddick was basically useless as a player for about 3 years because even if he had one of the best shots in the NBA, he wasn’t able to get the shot off. I think Jenkins is going to be able to do now what it took Reddick 3 years to get to.

OnionsParticipantI agree with a lot of what Chewy said.
Particularly MKG and Barnes have shined through. I also like what I see from Beal in terms of a complete game.
Thompson’s jump shot is sex.
Cavs playing now and Zeller is really impressive. Can bang in the post, showing good range and passing ability. I can see Gasol-lite. Waiters is just bad in this game. All he is showing is that he’s quick, which everyone knew. That jumper is shit and he’s way out of control.

bobforteParticipantFor me Beal is going to be perfect for the wizards. Barnes and Thompson compliment each other and are really fun to watch. Zeller and Leonard both impressive.

ghettosermonParticipantLillard is going to be special. His shot selection is just questionable at time but his quickness and strength to the hoop at the PG position is special.

bobforteParticipantAgreed lillard is very quick and strong. If they dont match on Batum, what will they do at the three?

ghettosermonParticipantCJ Miles and Derrick Brown would be nice low cost high upside signings. Luke Babbitt is a decent option although he needs to put up shots to score. He put up numbers at the end of the year.

ZaratukParticipantI don’t like the fact that NO is forcing Rivers to play at the point. He didn’t seem too comfortable doing it. He had no problem going into the lane, but once he was there he never tried a mid range jumper as he should have. His passes on kick out were sloppy alot of times or got deflected.
Even though I think he’s better suited to play the 2-guard, he showed great ballhandling ability and was pretty vocal on offense he might be able to run an offense in a few years.

akhan786ParticipantHe is actually played REALLY good defense surprisingly…and watching the game it didn’t really seem like he was hunting for his shot.
He made some slick passes too which surprised me as well. He took some long ass three pointers for no reason at all but other than that I’m not too worried about his offense. Bad shooting night because of jitters probably.
Who is this Bowel’s guy btw? Guy is huge…

Sewok15ParticipantThe ability to set up teammates is something that is more of a natural skill in my opinion. Point guards are born not made and Austin Rivers is a born scorer. I can’t recall him ever making a good pass in the time I watched him at Duke.
