scbe2223ParticipantIs anybody watching the summer league right now? Currently Brooklyn vs Indiana on NBATV. Miles Plumlee is impressing me. He is really athletic for his size and is showing some post moves I was unaware he had. Granted it is against lesser competition, but he’s playing well. 7 and 3 in the first quarter. Marshon Brooks is playing well also, but he looks like a future chucker in the league. That shot is pure when it’s going in though.

cycloParticipantI posted links to videos of his post moves in an earlier thread. Up & under move, drop step, jump hook, etc. It’s always been a myth that Plumlee "doesn’t have post moves." He does!
Why he didn’t show them more often at Duke, I have no idea.
He also has a decent face up jumper out to 18 feet when he shoots it… and he’s skilled enough to put the ball on the floor…
Probably a better NBA player than college player.
The great Larry Bird knew what he was doing.

capecodderParticipantThat’s why the Mahinni trade makes less sense…..Hibbert for 34-38; Plumlee for 10-14

mawi7056ParticipantBesides the guys that are drafted, the quality of the big men in these summer leagues is very poor. Besides the starting bigs on each roster (if that), all the other post players are D-league caliber players. Let’s wait until Plumlee sees some NBA defenders with his size and athletic ability.
On another note, Alec Burks has really been impressing me. I watched him all through college at Colorado and always believed he would be a very productive player in the league. Good athlete with a smooth game, can rebound, pass the ball, and improving on defense. With added physical strength and experience I see him surpassing Gordon Hayward as a player in 2 years.
Jazz will have a nice young nucleus to build around if Favors develops into the player many believe he can be.

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantThey made that Trade because Miles is still going to be a rookie. He wasn’t drafted to be a back up right away he was drafted to be a back up, rotation player down the line. In the meantime they traded for a big who has experience who can be a back up right now while Miles gets better. You need at least 4 bigs (starting C, and PF and back ups for each). It’s also good to have one more who can play both because someone is bond to get hurt or become a free agent soon

Jar Of Funky CrumbsParticipantI must admit I was a skeptic of the Plumlee pick by the Pacers but after watching him out there this week I’m coming away completly sold. He had some Blake Griffin-like slams and putbacks throughout the whole 5 day stretch. He can hit the open jumper and has that 12 -15 foot range which will keep defenders honest. He plays a lot like Hansbourough from a hustle standpoint and looks to be a very fluid athlete. Kudos to Pacers organization for seeing something in Plumlee and taking a chance on him, it just may pay dividends in the long run.

A Lil EnglishParticipantJohn Jenkins is looking clutch has hit 2 great 3PT FG’s as he’s caught the ball with less than 2 seconds on the clock. Looks like him & Beal are going at it.

royk927ParticipantThe Kid can really shoot. Keith Bentsen also had a nice game tho I want to to see more rebounding by him.
