I am loving this move for the Suns. This may sound crazy. I think that he is the best coach the Suns have had since Cotton Fitzsimmons. He runs just as good a offensive system as Dantoni ran, but he has had the team playing better defense. I think Suns would be a sub-.500 team right now if they would have held on to Dantoni. Gentry is 72 and 41 since he took over for the fired Terry Porter. Before he took over, everything looked like the team was pretty much done. I’m not saying to expect a miracle but don’t be surprised if the Suns make a run for a 50 win season this year. This team reminds me a lot of that Suns team that made it to the western conference playoffs without Amare, a few years back.

I don’t think they have another run to the WCF this year though. Too many good teams. A second round appearance at best for them. Enjoy them now, because the run n gun Suns won’t be around too much longer.

I like Gentry.  He seems like a classy guy and from what I’ve seen he has done a great job gradually bringing in Dragic to take over the point.

"Hey guys…..we just gotta get back on dee-fense OKAYYYYYY?" -Coach Gentry

This is a good move. If Sarver wasnt such a cheap owner they would still have Kerr, and maybe Amare

Gentry did a great job last season and don’t get be started on cost cutting Sarver! His new contract is well deserved but the team will start to transform now minus STAT and with Nash and Hill in their last couple of seasons.

They added some nice complimentary pieces this summer but I feel that a star signing a la Nash 2004 will be required to reignite this team long term.

They can make the play offs again but they are not in the 2nd group behinf the Lakers out West at the moment.
