Chilbert arenasParticipantSuns are in worst possible situation, barely not making the playoffs and getting the 14th pick (most likely) where do you guys see this team going? With Steve Nash’s future in limbo I’m going to assume he’s not going to be wearing a Suns jersey next season. We have some good role players in Gortat, Dudley, Shannon Brown, Telfair (to my surprise) , Morris, and Lopez (gulp), but I’m assuming Grant Hill is done in Phoenix along with Nash. We will have considerable cap space but what free agent that can make a difference is going to jump at the opprotunity to play for Robert Sarver ( in the race with Sterling for cheapest owners in league). I look at draft boards and am underwhelmed at who could be available at 14. What free agents are possibilities and who should we take with the 14th pick?

HaleParticipantI’d try to take the BPA that isn’t a big at 14. Terrence Ross could flourish in Phoenix. If Nash signed a oneyear deal they could take a shot at Wroten or Teague to get a one year lesson on how to play the PG position perfectly. Jamal Crawford really wants to play for the Suns, so that’s a FA.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI don’t understand why would Jamal Crawford want to play in Phoenix. I’ve heard talk that he wants to sign there but why in the world would a guy towards the end of his career want to be on a team that, without Nash, will miss the playoffs for a while.

aamir543Participant^No defense, fast paced up tempo offense, green light to shoot the three at will, isn’t that heaven for Jamal Crawford?

aamir543Participant^I do understand what you’re trying to say though, you’d think a vet with his scoring ability would go somwhere where he’d have a legit shot at the tittle, even if the money wasn’t there, he should be able to command a full MLE for one year or maybe 2, but not much more, Chicago seems like a golden fit, even if he doesn’t fit in defensively.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantLmao, that made laugh ^
Yeah, I guess when you put it that way, he’s a shoe-in fit. I just thought he would have wanted to win or atleast make the playoffs towards the end of his career, not just worry about his stats.

JoeWolf1They should try to get Goran Dragic back. He’s really starting to emerge, has familiarity in that system, and just happens to be a free agent this summer.

Chilbert arenasParticipantAs a Suns fan I was unhappy when we traded Goran for Brooks, now I’m borderline depressed about it

aamir543ParticipantIn my opinion, you have to blow it up, sorry to say, but this is a 20 win team without Steve Nash. Gortat will not be a 16 and 8 guy without Nash, Dudley will not be capable of putting up 20 a game at will, and same goes for their other guys, their best bet is to deal Gortat and Dudley while their value is high, otherwise they should be patheticly horrible next year, assuming Steve Nash is leaving, somthing he deserves to do.

DolanCareParticipantDudley and Gortat are nice pieces, but that’s hardly a core to build around. Sun fans may not want to hear it, but I think they should dish their remaining pieces and think about 2014. Because as of now, their future looks pretty damn bleak. Their roster is riddled with role players, like Shannon Brown and Telfair. And as mentioned in the beginning of this thread, they are in no position to get a solid draft pick. IMO they should deal the desirables, (maybe keep Dudley), and get draft picks/cap space.
