Honestly would be very surprised to see Barnes go second(Even though it is MJ drafting).

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Barnes slip all the way to the Warriors or Blazers. T-Rob is a proven college player that pretty much carried his team to the championship game. MKG is a hard working winner. Two things Jordan really seems to like.

Call me crazy, but I don’t see Barnes going second.

I believe Barnes, MKG, Drummond, Beal, and Robinson could all go 2-6 in any order.  I would not be a bit surprised if they go with Barnes, but it seems like Robinson might be the better pick for them.

For some reason, I think Jordan is going to go Drummond.

He has a think for high potential big men.

I believe they are going to go Barnes with the 2nd pick because he fits the needs best. Here’s my reason why.

Barnes: Adresses their need for scoring and shooting and their weakest postion is Sf in terms of building long term. Plus he a good defender who is underated on that side of the ball.

Trob- Already have Byiombo and Mullens at the 4/5. Robinson with Byiombo would be a very undersize front court(both about 6’9). Him with Mullens would be good offensively but terrible defensively. Really no need for 3 young develeping bigs at the same time.

MKG- Also adresses the need for a Sf  but they traded away a player with similar skills in Gerald Wallace so why drafted another one just like him. Lacks an offensive game.

Drummond: Is a Project and the Bobcats already have one in Byiombo. Brings the same defensive skills as Byiombo, and Mullens is more advanced as a scorer and can put up points when giving Consisten minutes. Again no need for 3 young developing bigs.

Beal: Already have Henderson at SG who shows alot of promise. Sure Beal is a better shooter but Henderson is a better defender with potential to be a lock down defender. His overall game is just as good as Beals.

If not Barnes i see them drafting Thomas Robinson. Because he’s the second best fit.

@woohoo. Another team I would agree but the bobcats need help just about every where. Bimbo and Mulluns aren’t the answer at PF, no answer at sg,sf or center either. The only spot they have that they shouldn’t draft over is pg. they need the best player available and that may be TRoB or it could be MKG. Either way it’s going to be a long process that one draft won’t fix. They need to build through the draft for the next 3 years and hope they get Wiggins when he comes out

The key to this selection is if TRob cabn show any prowess or potential as a SF. At the 3 the only player his size is Lebron

To me, Barnes is their man.   Davis was an easy choice because if he busts, Jordan wouldnt catch that flack.  Although the pick becomes tougher now that they have 2nd, I think Barnes is no doubt the choice.  Its pretty safe to assume that Barnes will not be a bust.  With this pick, they need a perimeter scorer.  So the only other choice in that regard is Beal.  I just dont believe Beal is better than Barnes.  I dont believe Beal is another Ray Allen or Eric Gordon.  He will be a pretty good Brad Beal.  I dont think Barnes is a substance-less scorer.  JoeWolf compared him a little to Kevin Martin, but I think Barnes really can do a lot more that he just couldnt show at UNC.

Logically, I would LOVE to take Drummond, but Jordan cant afford to take on a big time project that could still end up being a bust.  Not unless they get rid of Biyombo for some veteran punch.

I just dont think MKG is the guy you go after when scoring is a primary need.

T-Rob is gonna be a good player.  No knock against any of these guys, they all will be good I believe.  I actually think this 2nd pick has a chance to be better than Davis.

The reality for the Bobcats is though, they need a guy who can score and for a pick this high, Barnes and Beal are the best two options to go with.

unless barnes looks like a stud during pre-draft workouts, i think they’ll trade down to Portland for 6 and 11. Portland will take Drummond at 2, jordan will take barnes at 6 and perry jones or sullinger at 11

They were the worst team in League history this past season so filling team needs is irrelevant. MK-G has the heart and talent too become a stud so he is my pick. He can gaurd multiple positions, rebound really well and is exciting on the break. I like Brad Beal and Harrison Barnes as far as potential all-stars. The sky is the limit for Drummond but I don’t think Mike would risk the flop potential. Then again, he is a gambling man. The Bobcats could treat this like the NFL Draft (trade down and get multiple picks to assemble more talent). Chad Ford said Cleveland was in love with him last year so maybe, the #4 for the #2 if Barnes is there guy and both second round picks. The Bobcats need talent, a coach, and a GM who can stand up to Mr. Jordan in order to turn things around.

The trade down idea is actually a great idea. See if Portland will trade both their picks for the number two since who ever is picked number two isn’t a franchise changer

Jordan liked that Kemba Walker was a hard working winner, and ignored the fact he couldn’t shoot or run the point. Learn from history. As for Thomas Robinson, he was a proven college player who wasn’t a good finisher, lacks perimeter skills and post polish offensively, and while he is highly praised for his rebounding was nothing special on the offensive glass.

Unless they make a trade I really don’t see the Bobcats drafting Robinson.  He is very similar to Biyombo in the fact neither can play center.  Why have 2 young guys with potential at the same position?  The same goes for Beal.  They have Kemba and DJ who play a similar position./skill set.

    That leaves MKG, Drummond, Barnes.

I can see either of the above three going to the Bobcats.  MJ took Kwame before and I really doubt he goes that road again with Drummond.

Making it MKG and Barnes.  I think Barnes is a better fit and that is who I would take if I were the Bobcats. Bismack is pretty useless offensively, why take another guy with a low offensive skill set in MKG.

With that being said if the Bobcats can somehow pull off a trade with Portland (which I don’t think Portland would do) I think that would be the best move and get the 6 and 11 pick and take a combo of MKG/Barnes/Beal/Drummond/T Rob (best available player) with pick 6 and a Tyler Zeller with pick 11.  I think Zeller would compliment Bismack perfectly.  Zeller’s biggest strengths are Bismack’s biggest weaknesses and vice versa.

I think they should take Barnes. They need someone who can score, and Barnes probably has the most offensive potential of all the top prospects. I’m pretty sure they’ll take Barnes.
