If Thomas Robinson was 2 inches taller @ 6’10, would you think he would be the first overall pick? I really was thinking hard about this…..What do you guys pick im sure people will still favor Anthony Davis because of his shot blocking skills, ball handling, etc. But What you think?

I mean 2 inches would help him, but it really won’t make his game any better. It wouldn’t give him better post moves or a jump shot. Only thing is he’d be able to contest some more shots and shoot over some more people, but no. Being a Jr doesn’t help.

side not, that sideline reporter just called Thad Matta hot, LOL

"Measured 6’10 (in shoes) 240 lbs, with a 7’1 wingspan at the 2011 Amare Stoudemire Skills Academy."

If he was a legit 6’10, there is no doubt he’d be a top-3 pick with talks about him being #1.

Thomas Robinson is about 6’10, he’s already measured in at 6’10 this past summer at one of the camps.  But he don’t have the wingspan of a Derrick Favors, Andre Drummond, Anthony Davis, and all them dudes who possess massive 7’4" and over wingspans.  That’s what makes them even more special.

But even if Robinson measured 6’11 he wouldn’t be considered over Anthony Davis.  He would be a lock to go 2nd but he’ll still is 21 years old while Anthony Davis arguably dominated college basketball more doing most of it as an 18 year old freshman.  If Anthony Davis was arguably the most dominant player in college basketball this season as a freshman could you imagine what he would be doing if he stayed for his JR year?  This is what scouts and front office’s are thinking about.

Thomas Robinson has a high floor but his ceiling is still a few stories below Anthony Davis’.  He’s praised for his man child body but remember Robinson was just as skinny as Davis as a freshman.  There really is no reason to even consider drafting Robinson over Davis even if he were a few inches taller.  One thing I would of liked to see Robinson to do more as the tourney started is become a more dominant scorer but Robinson hasn’t shown the ability to be a true 1st option on the next level which would of been the only thing that would of put him ahead.

I agree with almost everything Mr. said we would be lock for #2 but Anthony is still too special to beat..

but let’s be correct if you call Anthony 18yo who celebrated 19th birthday last week i guess than you should call TRob 20yo too while he won’t be 21 until summer and is almsot the same age like Perry Jones

If T Rob isn’t at least very good in the NBA, I’ll owe you all lunch.  Seriously, has Faried taught us NOTHING about how much of an impact a major motor can have?  His strength and athletecism, along with having at least some idea how to play (i.e. Triston Thompson went #4!) mean he shouldn’t drop out of the top 5 and if he does he’s a steal.

I think if every player in the draft from Thomas Robinson, to Tu Holloway were 2 inches taller their stock would rise.  You’d have to think if Robinson were 6’11” or 7′ tall depending on what height reading you’re going on, he be averaging about 14 rebounds per game.

If Robinson were 2” taller, he’d be physically the same as Andre Drummond only about twice as productive.

He’d make a good case, but this is all hypothetical.  Davis is the #1 pick and I believe Robinson should be a top 5 pick.  Robinson was also 6’8” 225 lbs his senior year in High School, he wasn’t built like Anthony Davis as a Freshman.  Look at the clip on his profile on this site if you don’t believe me.  It’s from his Sr. year in HS during the Reebok ASG.  By the time he got to Kansas as a freshman he was the same size (Ht/Wt/Wingspan) as Amare Stoudamire during his first NBA game.  He’s always been a man beast.
