Toronto16ParticipantI’m not trying to hate on the dude or anything like that. I think what LeBron did was his decision and we can’t hate on him for it, though we can all agree he went about it the wrong way. I am not trying get a whole boat load of negatives but I am at work bored and I was surfing the web, and found this quote from LeBron that he said at the begginning of training camp before the 2006-2007 season:
Lebron in 2006: “It’s all about competing, about trying to be the best. It’s also
important to me to make the team I’m on now the best. I don’t want to
go ring-chasing, as I call it; you know, going to a team that’s already
pretty established and trying to win a ring with them.”I’m just saying.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI’m telling yall Lebron never wanted to leave Cleveland..
Even though earlier this year..Bosh had talked about them teaming up in New York..
Lebron has been upset with owner Dan Gilbert for stopping the mid-season trade that would’ve bought Amare to the Cavs… ….0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/15/2010 - 4:48am #354656
mikeyvthedonParticipantHow were they established? They had been middle of the pack, and I guess they had signed Chris Bosh, but it is definitely expiremental. If he went to a team that was per se established, he would have gone to the Lakers, Celtics or maybe the Magic. I can understand how that statement is ironic, and I get where you are coming from, but hell, times change 🙂

Toronto16Participant@Rudeboy, I heard something like that too, as well I heard the story about Delonte West and his mother is legit, and Lebron wanted to get the heck away from that.

JNixonParticipantIf he was upset about Amare not going to the Cavs, why didn’t he just sign with the Knicks? Playing with Amare would’ve given him a legit 2nd option and wouldn’t have damaged his road to becoming the best player in the history of the NBA if he won multiple titles. Playing with Heat makes him VERY unlikely to be looked at as the best player of all-time despite his accolades because he has so much talent around him. I don’t know if that’s what he was mad about. It could be though

The funny thing is, ESPN removed this interview from Broussard’s archives.

marcusfizer21Participant"great things come to those who are patient." — just too bad he wasn’t patient enough… I always had that feeling that LBJ couldn’t walk the talk…
>He arrogantly announced in 2009 that he was gonna join the 2010 Dunk Contest… then changed his mind…
>He had said that he never wanted to leave Cleveland but there he is proclaiming on National TV that he was going to the Heat… I also think he didn’t feel any remorse in his decision or that he gives a sh%6 about the feelings of Clevelanders or the state of Ohio…
>Spoiled the fans? what the heck was LeBron talking about when he spoiled the fans??? Of course we have high expectations from a guy who is considered as a great player… That quote, I never understood…
>He is definitely one of the most talented players now but the way he handled himself… His interviews… They are not ideal for quotations…

PureshooterParticipantA lot changes in 4 years. I don’t think it’s reasonable to hold him to this for the rest of his career.
