DolanCareParticipantThis site just rated/predicted KCP to be the top shooting guard for next year. While KCP is still a relatively unproven prospect, I must admit that I agreed with the ranking…
Yes, it is true that KCP had poor shot selection last season. When watching him play there were times when he was out of control, and it’s clear that he must work on being patient. But his shooting mechanics are solid, and he can get it up high and quick. With the right coaching I think he can tighten up his FG percentages and be a quality wing.
In addition, his athletic ability and defensive potential keep his floor high. Even if his development falters, I think he will find a place in the NBA.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a forum posting on KCP, so I’m assuming most of you guys aren’t that high on him. And thus, will get dogged/negged for this post. Either way I’m curious what the general opinion of KCP is.

F_She’s one of the very few players in the first round i haven’t watched a game of. i actually didn’t know who he was until i first saw him in this site’s mock. i saw georgia play once, maybe even twice, against UK and FL and totally over-looked him, as he was a no-show.
i did however read all the scouting reports, and saw all the highlights i could find, but i still know little about his game…
Even though is hard to judge how good shooters are from highlights (because you never know how many shots they actually took), saying the kid’s ‘mechanics are solid’ is an understatement. he has a flawless, excellent form on his shot wether is pulling up or most impressive, his quick, catch and shoot mechanics with great elevation, easily one of the top forms of the class. athleticism is usually a flaw that holds ‘catch and shoot’ scorers back, but not this case, his athleticism would nicely allow him to come off / fight thru screens and get open easier.
he definitely has potential to be the 8th pick, very nice prospect. i wanna watch him play

SiggyParticipantI’m skeptical of players who are billed as shooters but don’t shoot well. What kind of shooter shoots 65% from the line? He might have a pretty form, but the results weren’t there. He could be a better shooter than his %’s would indicate, but then there’s the issue of his poor shot selection which could also limit his efficiency. On top of that he’s not a good ball-handler or 1 on 1 player so he can’t just attack the hoop if his jump shot is off. He doesn’t have much of a floor game either, so if he’s not shooting well he’s not much of anything on that side of the floor.
