Evans, Wallace, Mayo, and McGeeDo you guys like the USA team as is or would you change it up. Supposedly they picked by the players performances at the evaluations which hurt Evans, Wallace and Mayo.
Personally, I think Evans should have made it over Gordon. Easily the best rookie and one of the top Guards in the league and at the tryouts. I like Wallace’s game more than Odom’s. Wallace is willing to put his body on his line while Odom is versatile. I would’ve also probably taken one more guy out for McGee, just to have 3 Centers. If Chandler or Lopez either get hurt or do bad, than McGee would be a good option at Center. I’d rather have McGee at Center than an undersized PF.

the I in winParticipantLove and Odom can play center, the center they will play against won’t be as strong or as good as NBA players.

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantGordon is a knock down shooter, and a good defender and he does not need the ball to dominate so his game would benefit the USA team, Tyreke is not a good shooter and needs the ball at all times to be effective therefore his game was not suitable for this type of play, he is still a great player though. Wallace seemed lost during the Blue vs White scrimmage and since they are playing more of a half court set which Wallace does not really excel in that much he was really of no use plus Odom’s versatility and veteran experience make him a valuable player to have on a team with a lot of young inexperienced players. McGee has shown spurts of great play but Chandler and Lopez would be much more beneficial to team USA because Chandler appears very healthy and will create mismatch problems for a lot of teams, his height and length make him a big presence down low and Lopez is going to be very effective in the style of play that team USA is going to run so they made pretty good choices.

JoppersCoach K had said when introducing Tyreke Evans to the team that he had the real possibility of being the #2 option on the squad behind Kevin Durant.
However, after Tyreke injured his ankle, Tyreke took himself off the team because he believed it wasn’t fair for him to be placed on the team without completing tryouts. He also added that he would continue to train for the upcoming season in Philadelphia with Team Tyreke.
‘ “I didn’t even play. That wouldn’t be fair to the guys who played. I’ll just go home and rest and get ready for next year,” said Team USA tryout Tyreke Evans.’

Demarcus OnealParticipantEvans was cut due to his injury and i belive that westbrook should of been cut due the large amount of guards on the team and mayo should of stayed on also thought mcgee should of been kept due to the lack of big men

SteroidParticipantI think the picks for the center position are fair. Tyson is pretty active and is a defensive presence. Lopez brings some offensive utility in the low post which is somewhat needed. I think we possibly could have gotten away with McGee as a back up. He is a very active center and can get it done, off the bench, on being active in itself. I feel he would have fit better in the system we are trying to run, but like I said, the center picks are “fair”..
Rondo was a very big surprise to me…

finneganParticipanttyreke not suitable in this type of play?
i don’t think so…. he played USA basketball on his HS years, droping 43 points in his first game on USA basketball youth development festival. MVP in Nike Global challenge against best foreign players.
tyreke excels even on star studed team. MVP in mcdonald game, MVP in jordan brand game, MVP in boost mobile elite game. MVP in nba rookie/sophomore game. average 20/5/5 in nba on his rookie year.
without lebron and wade in USA lineup, they need tyreke more, a player who loves to attack the basket.
tyreke was cut due to his injury. if he’s not injured, he was sure in for this young USA team.
