Anybody know anything about his recruitment. Word is that now that Ed Davis is gone, North Carolina will offer him. He was very high on them, but when Harrison Barnes committed, they were out of scholarships at the time and stopped recruiting him.

I’ve heard two different things. One source tells me North Carolina is jumping in, and that it is a 2 horse race if they do between them and Kentucky.

Another guy I trust told me basically nothing, that he is wide open right now and that North Carolina would be considered but would have alot of ground to make up.

I have no inside sources, anybody know anything of his recruitment?

It is WIDE open…Wouldn’t be suprised to see him go to Kentucky, but also wouldn’t be suprised if he goes to Oregon or Washington. As a Portland local, who has seen him play numerous times, it would be nice to see him stay in state. He really is a great talent. I’m a diehard UNC fan, and if he went to UNC that would be great, but what position will he play there? His natural position is sf, but he won’t start over Barnes and there are too many combo guards on that team for him to see meaningful playing time at the sg spot. Would he play pf? Doubt it. Even as a UNC fan, I wouldn’t advise him to go there. Especially if he thinks he’s a 1 and done talent (which he does lol).

I think it’s a two way tie between Oregon and Kentucky. Washington is a semi-close 3rd.

He is a combo forward right now. What on earth are you talking about him playing shooting guard? The guy is 6’9.
I know he is really skilled off dribble, but at this point, especially with his jumpshot, he is a faceup 4 who can play the 3 in a crunch.

That’s what I’m saying…He won’t play sg and he would only get spot minutes at sf…Yes, I know he’s a combo forward genius. If he HAD to play the 2…He could. And he is closer to 6,7 than he is to 6,9.

He will be more a 3/4 combo in college I believe.

If UNC jumps in, it would be interesting but I believe Jones might want to play early. I wouldn’t be shocked if he decides to play at Washington. I do not believe he will go to Oregon if there’s no coach. I think Washington and Kentucky are the leaders.
