providencefriars1ParticipantStoglin declared for the draft today after receiving a year long suspension by Maryland. I kow this kid can score the rock but what are some opinions on him. Does anyone like him as a prospect or think he can play PG in the NBA? Also where are you putting him in your mocks, im putting him early 2nd round just to be safe for now.

Wahoo757ParticipantUDFA. I hate to be cruel on these boards, but this guy is simply not NBA material. This guy has tunnel vision and is a shoot first point guard with not so nice efficiency numbers. He looked good at times against my team UVA (played them twice) but he didn’t strike me as an NBA point guard nor do I think he could be a SG due to his lack of size.

UNCbasketballbumParticipantTerell Stoglin will not get drafted or drafted late in the second round. He’s an undersized shooting guard who jacks up way too many shots. It’s really a shame that he got suspended and left Maryland because the Terps are going to be really good next year with Len, Faust and Pankey all returning. Stoglin was the leading scorer in the ACC and really needed another year of college to mature and expand his game. Unfortunately he won’t get that chance and will most likely end up playing overseas.

WizardofOzParticipantI think he goes undrafted. He’s quick and athletic, but he’s a 6’1" shooting guard w/ no PG skills, and his chucking and overconfidence won’t fly in the NBA. Maybe he gets picked at the end of the 2nd round, but not lilely. His style of play isn’t even a good fit for overseas, unless he plays in China or very low level Euro ball. He’ll probably be a D-League fodder.
As a Maryland fan though, we’ll be worse off next year without him.

BleedingBlueParticipantThis guy has one of the most horredous shot selections I’ve ever seen. No NBA team will ever let someone like him run the offense and he will get fucked by the SGs in the league on the defensive end, that is, if he ever gets a chance to play.

scbe2223ParticipantWas there ever a report of why he got suspended? I saw somewhere it said a violation of team conduct or something. A year is a pretty hefty suspension though so it must be pretty serious.

HayatoKanzaki1ParticipantTyrese Rice. Remember him. The other shoot first undersized point guard from Boston College? look at how he turned out.

river09ParticipantHe has never been a PG, he is a undersized SG of the truest form. His quickness with and without the ball is something that could get and keep him in the league as a sparkplug type guy, he has some serious explosiveness and range (regardless whether he’s defended well or not). Could score with ease against upper level competition in college and I definitely believe he could give quality minutes to a NBA team, I don’t think he will be drafted, but I do think teams will give him decent look undrafted.

JNixonParticipantHe’s a tweener guard who likes to score. His shot isnt great, but it definitely isnt bad. He’s pretty quick and a good ball-handler, but he isnt a high IQ player. I dont see him being a true PG and his future in the NBA is in doubt, but he will play pro somewhere for sure. He lacks the maturity and wasnt all that coachable in college though, according to those close to the team.
