bennydabullParticipantWasn’t he supposed to become Lebron-lite this year and be a triple double threat?
For anyone that watches Nets games, what’s the deal?

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantMaybe…just maybe.

TheWizardParticipantHis passing was off today. He had a string of like 2-3 turnovers in row. Having not seen him a lot, I thought he was supposed to be a great passer by everyone’s comments. To his offence, he did have dwayne wade and lebron defending him.

JNixonParticipantI always said it, he’s WAY more like Andre Iguodala than Lebron. Anyone who has followed Williams knows he’s not a natural scorer and he likes to distribute and do other things more than actually look for his own shots (partially due to his lack of polished handles). He’s probably going to develop into a true 3rd option scorer, whether the Nets try and make him more is on them. He’s a complementary scorer who isn’t a true scorer and lacks polish offensively right now.

TheWizardParticipantI can kind of see the andre comparison, but iduodala is so much better it sounds a little off.

JNixonParticipantObviously he’s better now, but I’m talking at the same stage of development. Iguodala was a better defender at the same stage, but they virtually played the same way. Williams is more flashy as a passer though.

mini_marzParticipantiggy is 100% rite on the iguodala comparison…. he looks to pass A LOT more then score… i watched the game today and honestly i think that he should be getting more minutes… at times when morrow was out there u could look and see that they are a much better 2-way team with williams on the floor…. but at this point he is exactly like iguodala early in his career
lol he better produce got williams on my fantasy team lol

ilike.panochasParticipantIf the Nets coach would open his eyes (im talking to you Avery Johnson) he would realize that Travis Outlaw is a better player off the bench. Terrence should be starting, and if given 30 minutes a game, he will give you 15PPG 6RPG 5APG and solid defense, Andre Iguadala type numbers.

SubZeroParticipantTerrence Williams has said he wanted to be a PG when he came into the league, so that’s probably why he’d rather pass it

RUDEBOY_Participantwilliams is better suited to play small forward..
he’s no point guard.even he has the ability to slide into that spot a few minutes a game..

NJHooper95ParticipantTerrence Williams is the real deal. Avery Johnson is not utilizing him in the correct way. He may not be Lebron but he is by far the nets best passer and most versatile player. Give Coach Avery time to wake up and you guys will see that this kid can be a triple double threat on a nightly basis.

slats habilkParticipantDon’t you think he tries to do too much? He’s good and I’ve always liked him but he doesnt NEED to be a PG for that team.

Mr. 19134Participantterrence williams is an above average basketball player with elite athleticism that makes people think he’s more then he is.
And @JayNix, you wanna talk about the same stage of development Iguadola was going into his 4th year in the league at the same age…Terrence Williams isn’t going to get too much better then he is now.
What he is tho is a very versatile player who can be a great complimentary player as a 3rd or 4th option on a playoff team.
He is not anything more then that tho his all around skill set and athleticism will lead people to believe he can be.
Bottom line is he is not a great ball handler, get’s confused on defense despite his great one on one defensive potential, and will never be a great shooter, or scorer.
He will be a solid cog good for a highlight or 2 every game.

Age definitely doesn’t matter more than game experience when you’re talking about players in their 2nd season. That’s just like saying Wesley Johnson should be as polished as Kevin Durant since they are the same age, despite one having 3 years of NBA experience and a FIBA basketball tournament over the other player.

Mr. 19134ParticipantIn terms of potential Williams just doesn’t have it. Iggy had better numbers and more potential.
Williams doesn’t have the NBA game experience but he had 2 more years of college game experience therefore he should of came into the league a more experienced player then Iggy did. But he didn’t, despite his 2 extra years of college seasoning Williams came into the league even rawer then Iggy was. Iggy put up better numbers his rookie year on a Sixers team that featured Iverson chucking up shots trying to get into the playoffs. Williams was on a 12-70 team with no good wings and couldn’t produce.

He did come in with more, in terms of college experience. I don’t know if he’ll put up numbers as good as Iguodala , but it makes no sense to use age as a barometer of experience over actual NBA experience for a 2 year player.
Also, he couldn’t produce what? He put up decent numbers in limited action last year. Numbers strikingly close to the ones Iguodala put up on a bad 76er team as a rookie in alot of major categories.

Mr. 19134ParticipantHe couldn’t produce standout numbers. You are right he did produce numbers very similar to the ones Iggy produced as a rookie but once again Williams was better seasoned college player having come out as a SR. Being drafted to the worse team in the league lacking leadership, scoring, and all of the above. While Iguadola put his numbers up on a playoff team after his sophomore year of college.
Seniors usually show what type of player they will be their rookie year.

JNixonParticipantWhat makes you say he was a "better and more seasoned" player than Iguodala as a rookie? Didn’t you just say the opposite of that?
Iguodala would’ve put up similar numbers on the Nets when he was a rookie. And Williams has more upside than the average college Sr. It’s obvious he’s not a finished product. If you think he’ll be a 8 ppg, 2 rpg, 2 apg player on 40% shooting for the rest of his career, then more power to you. I’m sure he’ll improve on those numbers as his career goes along.

Mr. 19134ParticipantWilliams was more seasoned because he had more time to work on his game. He had 2 extra years of college where he had to learn something that gave him the edge of the average sophomore. And not only that his mind and body as a man should of been more prepared for the riggors of the season.
I think Iggy would of averaged over 10 on that Nets team but thats neither here no there with no way to prove it.
And I think Williams will eventually become a 15 5 n 5 player.
