Mr. BasketballParticipantThabeet Happy the Clippers Won the Lotto
Despite being scheduled against Game 2 of the Lakers-Magic series, the Cedars-Sinai Sports Spectacular still drew a huge crowd of 1700 to the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Sunday night in L.A. Besides Ochocinco, Dwyane Wade, Ryan Scheckler, Laila Ali, Baron Davis (who donned an Afro wig and introduced Snoop as though he were part of the posse), Warren Sapp, Blake Griffin and dozens of other sports stars, I saw Hasheem Thabeet, the skinny, ever-smiling 7-3 UConn center who figures to go in the top five of the coming NBA draft. I asked him what he thought of the lottery.
“Oh, I was SOOOO happy!” he beamed. “I see that the Los Angeles Clippers win the first pick!”
Why did this make you happy, ‘Sheem?
“Because I know this means I do not have to play for them!”
Kid’s a quick learner.http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/package?id=3834994
Wow. thats messed up. what an ***!

PringlesParticipantAhahaha, even foreigners know how bad that team sucks.
The Clippers should be moved to St. Louis.

j1232eParticipantAny player should be happy to be in the nba. I never respect the players that refuse to play for a team. Lets remember the last two on the west coast Danny Ferry, la clipps he turned out to be awesome. Vancover steve francis was a little beter but fans maybe just me hated him because he refused. I think its funny players think they can dictate their draft status, but to even the average fan. I claim NO RESPECT. think of this Rubio.

mikeyvthedonParticipantHey, you say classless, countless others say he knows what he is talking about.

fastdanParticipantCan you blame him for not wanting to be with a loser organization? Yeah, I’m sure he’d be happy to play for any team in the NBA, just like anyone else, but I’m sure, like anyone else, he;d rather play for a team with promise and an ownership who knows what they’re doing.
It’s not a bad attitude, it’s a winners attitude.

bobbybParticipantI am sure he is joking, anyone who knows of him, has seen his interviews knows that Thabeet is gentleman and a model citizen. So one little joke doesnt make his charachter.

Meditated StatesParticipantHe should be happy to be in the NBA yes. He should also be happy he does not have to go to the clips.

marcusfizer21ParticipantDavid Stern: With the first pick of the 2009 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Clippers draft Blake Griffin.
(crowd cheered and applauded)
David Stern: With the second pick of the 2009 NBA Draft, the Memphis Grizzlies select Hasheem Thabeet. (crowd cheers)After reading 3 more draft picks:
David Stern: there has been a trade… The Los Angeles Clippers traded Blake Griffin to the Memphis Grizzlies on exchange for Hasheem Thabeet and a future first round pick…
(Cant imagine the reaction of Thabeet as he gets traded)(Clippers are as dumb as they look…)

DirtyDezParticipantWhat’s worse: Clippers, Grizzlies or T-Wolves….?
Honestly they’re all last place teams but i’d rather be a millionaire in Los Angeles than Memphis or Minneapolis, live on the beach, beautiful women, no pressure and get to watch the Lake Show every night!!!!!

juves4783Participantif i was thabeet, i would be happy not to be going to the clippers too. i feel bad for eric gordan and blake griffin. thabeet gets to go to either memphis or okc where there is great young talent for a few years.
and those that are calling thabeet a bust, it’s all about expectations. in either situation, he’s going to be asked to rebound and block shots. he’ll meet those expectations. any additional offensive skills will be an added plus.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think he was just joking, but what he doesn’t realize is that HE’S the joke. I think he’s still asking Blair for his arm back.
