Should the Thunder trade for Mike Beasley and let him fully develope unlike the Heat are doing? I think he would be the perfect fit for this team and he would be playing with a childhood friend in Durant. Also how much trouble could a guy get into in Oklahoma City? I really feel his talent hasnt went anywhere its just he hasnt been given a chance to grow in the Heat organization. I think OKC should jump on this while the Heat are trying to give this guy away. Given the mins I think he would produce better than Jeff Green as a starter and Green and Harden would make the Thunder second unit dynamic.

Jeff Green is a better defender IMO

And he’s a better complimentary player. He does the little things that Beasley is unwilling to do.

Jeff Green is not only a better defender, he is a more efficient scorer, averaging slightly more points than Michael Beasley w/o taking as many shots as Beasley. And if Beasley is anything like his comparison, Carmelo Anthony, he is probably a bit of a ball hog who would take shots from KD. In all, Beasley needs to have the ball in his hands to be good, and OKC doesn’t need that.

They might as well keep Green if they want to trade Beasley. Green is a better complimentary player and he provides the same mismatches Beasley does, except he’s a better and more willing defender.

“he is a more efficient scorer, averaging slightly more points than Michael Beasley w/o taking as many shots as Beasley.”

That 33 percent shooting against the Lakers was really efficient. Come on, the regular season numbers are not different at any significant level. If you don’t like Beasley, you don’t have to make up garbage about him being a ball hog or misanalyze statistics.

For what it is worth, Miami was only offering to give away Beasley in order to get more cap room to max out three guys. They won’t be doing that anymore unless LeBron pulls a shocker and says he wants to go to Miami tomorrow.

A Harden and Green second unit would be dynamic, but OKC needs a legit PF to move Green to the bench. Beasley is not the answer. If only they could’ve gotten Bosh.

“he is a more efficient scorer, averaging slightly more points than Michael Beasley w/o taking as many shots as Beasley.” ???????????????

how can you make that statement when beasley almost scores more than him and they shoot the same fg% and what about the fact that beasley is a better rebounder than green. i wasnt saying take green off the team anyways i was saying it would be smart to add beasley for nothing and if it doesnt work out deny his option at the end of the year. Green has also been given more chances than beasley as well

If he fits you have him for an extra year for the cheap and could S&T Green to someone for a pick or player you need.

If he doesn’t they resign green and let Beasley walk and have cap room.

Beasley and Green are really close in almost all catagories, but Beasley would benefit alot from the change of location.
Beasley is also a little taller and has a better post-mans body.

Ibaka, Beasley, Durant, Harden, Westbrook is a good starting team.
Kristic, Aldrich, Green, Sefolosha, and Maynor make a good bench five to push for a for seed.

If they kept running Green at the 4…they’ll be a 1 done in the playoffs if they are matched up with a long team like the Lakers or Blazers….If they can Get Beasley for a package like Maynor and Mullens for Beasley they need to take it…If they have a few 1st rounders next year I’d include one of those…If they bait the Heat with a deal that adds depth and a draft pick I think they’d take it…

If they were to move Green to the bench if would be for a true PF, not another tweener. And if they did trade for Green, it would be Beasley coming off the bench, Green has already proved he contributes to a to their success. Beasley? Not so much. Remember he was toted as the player DWade needed to get back to the finals. Clearly that didn’t work out.

Beasley was the only other player next to Wade and their inabilities to advance in the Playoffs was not Beasley’s fault…He had a decent series….He didn’t back away from the playoff pressure….

the problem with that jerb.. where u mention the carmelo comparison… the heat have him playing minutes at the 4 more than at the 3… beasley is a 3 gaurd and i think hes been playing out of place a little… but with decent minutes i think he can still be REALLY good..

Beasley averaged 10 points a game in the playoffs. He’s also shorter, as a shorter wingspan and has a smaller vertical then Green.

The Heat are “GIVING” Beasley away for a TE which means any team under the cap doesnt have to give anything back really like they gave away a 1st round pick for a 2nd!!! All im asking is should the thunder jump on Beasley knowing they dont have to give up “ANY” rotation players. And Beasley was never given a chance because he had a beloved player in Haslem playing behind him so any mistake and he was out, he is a far more talented player than Green he just has never been given the chance to play worry free

Since 2000 no number 2 pick has been on such a short leash except Darko and he doenst count cuz he was on a championship team. There is no reason why the heat never ran the offense through beasley for everything bad said about the guy everybody knows he can score and is is decent rebounder. Given his short leash the guy is still producing as good as any 4 on the thunder so imagine what it would be like if he was acually given a chance without always looking over his shoulder.

He’s right on the Money…Plus One…I realy hope the Sixers jump on it….give Them Lou Williams and Jason Smith…I’d Throw in Jodie Meeks…That’s 3 rotation guys for Beasley…Lou Make the same as Beasley and can play the Pg or be the Barbosa style combo guard off the bench…Smith and Meeks add the thin bench…Smith provides size and was even drafted by Riley and Traded for Cook on draft day…Meeks replaces Cooks 3 point shooting …Both are Cheap Talent…

The Thunder are good the way they are, I don’t know why they would be interested in bringing in a headcase like Beasley. There’s a reason why he hasn’t been moved yet…..

fastdan you sound like a Beasley hater….The # 2 pick who can be a 20/8 guy ala David West next to a pg( you know something the Heat didn’t have)…

Beasley = David West (You Know a Fringe All Star) with any good Pg, Pick and Roll offense and a Tough Minded Coach….So to be honest The Thunder aren’t a good place for him after all….

if you honestly believe Beasley wouild have done better against Gasol then you’re not as smart as you think you are. Beasley takes about 6 more shots than Green and Green averages almost 2 more points in less attempts, meaning more EFFECIENT!!!

I understand your point, so that’s why I was not comparing their play at their positions, I was comparing their similar style of play and lack of defensive intensity and their similar since of ball-hogging and not being a willing passer

I think Jeff Green is right there. If he plays the 3 position anywhere else, were talking about a potential superstar. He actually had great numbers last season playing out of position.

Hmmm… Let’s see… A guy who hates being called "Tito Jackson" to Dwyane Wade’s "Michael Jackson" traded for a guy who never seems to complain about his role on the team… That alone should give us a lot of idea on what Jeff Green is and should be… A true professional, that even he got picked at 5 in 2007, he definitely embraces his role with the OKC… I don’t know if I can say the same with Beasley…
