tim hardaway jr

today is the second time this season i've caught a good portion of a Michigan game and Im very impressed with tim hardaway jr. I noticed both his teammates burke and robinson are in the 2013 mocks but hardaway is in the 2014 mock as a early second rounder.

Can someone enlighten me as to why this gy is a 4 year player who cant enter this season and is not a first rounder? Am I missing something becasue he looks better then both his teammates out there. Has solid ball handling for a sg, good athlete. Feathery smooth jumper where he can pull up off the dribble in mid range a nail it. Doesnt look very good on defense though.

What do you guys think about him?

He had a good game, but

He had a good game, but coming into the season he was seen as someone who lacked adequate ball-handling skills for the wing and did not have a good first step. He also shot the ball very poorly last season, settling for a lot of tough 3's that didn't go in. He's been more aggressive taking it to the hoop and is making up for his shortcomings as a handler with his strength and aggression. He's not taking as many 3's as well.

I've went to bat for him on

I've went to bat for him on this site a couple of times. He was in the 1st round before but last year screwed him over. He's a good player, plays like Alec Burks, not as athletic though. He can shoot, pass, rebound, and he is working on his defense. It still sucks though. Last year, he had to be the man, this year, he gets to blend in without the pressure and play a good all around game, His dad tries to get him to pattern his game afte D-Wade, said that like freshman year. He'll end up being a late 1st or early 2nd based on his average potential. Meaning he's not going to be one of the games best players, but you can plug him into any system and he'll be able to blend and be successful, he'll be playing a Danny Green type role in a few years.

yeah, ive not watched him in

yeah, ive not watched him in the past. I read those are his concerns. But twice now, im seeing a pro out there. Its real early, but damn he has some skills. 23 points today on 10-15 shooting. After 5 games, hes averaging 18 points on over 60% shooting.

He reminds me of a player who

He reminds me of a player who was also slept on and wasn't even drafted, Wesley Matthews.

How? He's not as big,

How? He's not as big, athletic, and not as good of a defender Wes Mathews is. I may go as far to say as he can't shoot it from deep as good as him either

He is actually taller than

He is actually taller than Mathews 6'6" to 6'5" grant you and is athletic just not flashy. He is a first round talent kind of a guy who just knows how to play. Also watch DeShaun Thomas he's in the same situation.

I actually like him the least

I actually like him the least of those three Michigan player. He's good but Burke and Robinson III look like far better prospects to me.

I like Hardaway jr. and im

I like Hardaway jr. and im higher on him than most people here

i like his shot mechanics and improved ball handling.

we're talking about a guy who averaged 15 points last year and attempted 5.5 threes while only making 1.6.

What happens if the 3pt% goes up like we all know he can considering his Freshman year % and nice mechanics....

you got yourself a 18ppg scorer in CBB and a NBA prospect.

plus, how can you possibly think this guy wont get drafted? his dad is legend Tim Hardaway who is currently a scout for the heat.... connections get you far in life

Last year i heard a few

Last year i heard a few scouts say he wouldnt have gotten drafted...He's putting the ball on the floor and driving to the basket more

Unlike most kids who grow up in nba enviroment..Hardaway doesnt seem to have a great feel for the game..You look at players like Austin Rivers,Steph Curry & Kevin Love they had a great feel for the game.....

Lol at Austin Rivers being

Lol at Austin Rivers being used as an example.

Hardaway's feel for the game isn't that bad. He just needed to realize that he can physically impose himself at the college level. Even if his first step still isn't all that great, he can still power himself into the lane and through his defenders at this level. It won't be the same in the pros, but at least he'd give off the impression that he's an improved slasher.

I think Glen Robinson III

I think Glen Robinson III will be a star at the next level, but I like Hardaway's game a lot. He's continuted to progress and I think he's done so even more this season.

He' finally added some weight and it's paying off as he is really good on the glass so far this season. He pulled down 7 against a strong physical guard in McGuder, yesterday. He can handle the ball, he's fairly aggressive attacking the rim and he has improved his outside shot. I'd take him in the late 1st round, this season.

He's not the defender Mathews is, but I think he'd be a great 2 guard to bring off the bench and a guy who could probably start for a bad team or be a nice fill in for a better team. He reminds me of Gerald Henderson, but I think he could be better because he is a taller, longer player.

For the record I'm not saying

For the record I'm not saying hardaway is a better pro prospect then Robinson or Burke, just that I think he has been equally as impressive as either of those guys right now if not more so and seems to have first round talent.
