Why is this guy not top 10 in mock drafts? He obviously has some holes in his game but what players don’t?

I think the fact that he doesn’t go to a big name school is part of the reason he is underrated (imagine him at Kentucky O_O). Being 6’6.5(and maybe taller by the time he hits 21) and playing the PG position will really give him a big advantage in the NBA.

Oh, and even though i didn’t see the game it looks like he a had yet another great night. 22/6/4  9-12FG.

hes playing great. I wouldnt say washington is a small school though. But if he keeps it up and enters the draft, his stock will rise.

Oh baby. You mah boi Entropy. Do you think he can start at the point in the NBA? Seeing an elite athlete at 6’7 manning the point is as sexy as it gets (shouts out to Shaun Livingston before he took an arrow to the knee).

yes i also knew the guy is nearly 6’7 plus he won’t be 19 til April he might haven’t finished growing and he has some strong frame to be 220 in two years the size the athleticism (especially speed) handles scoring instincs defensive potential everything of an elite sg propspect and the mindset the PERFECT court vision on the PG he would success in any position..a borderline allstar and top10 pick as a sg/combo and if he can only show he can be full time pg he would be no more reason not to mention him in the top5 consederation..that’s only me but i love this guys game..

and a big plus he has some cockiness to be a star, like Kobe once said you have to be a LITTLE selfish to reach your ceiling..and Tony has it, he was pretty quick at the star of the season when he played of the bench and now he is true leader of the team

I like wroten but, im very skeptical about those measurements. There is no way Malik Waayn is 6’2 and I doubt Wroten is close to 6’7, i give him a legit 6’5 though. Despite the skewed measurements, I think this kid has potential, and if he shines in the ncaa you will see his stock soar.

look at Wroten in hs and know he actually looks really taller than he was 6’4 6’5 back then

Those measurements were taken in sneakers because I know for a fact Maalik Waynes is about 6’0.5" or 6’1 in socks.  I’ve met him in person and he’s taller then he looks because he’s built like a bull dog with broad shoulders.

And Wroten I believe when these measurements came out in the summer was said to have measured 6’5 in socks with a 6’8 wingspan it was big news because it shocked a ton of people who already had him listed as a major 6’4 combo guard but news that he was a legit 6’7 in sneakers was huge and I thought it was going to vault him up mocks into top 10 territory especially since his passing prowess has been well known for awhile.

I do agree that if he were playing at Kentucky right now he’d be a borderline top 5 pick because he would be clearly outshining MKG as the teams number one offensive option not to mention the assists he would be racking up on that team.

He’s kind of a tweener. He’s 6’5, or 6’6 somewhere around there. Plays a lot like Tyreke Evans in that he and Gaddy basically share PG duties. Good passer, but not so good of a shooter. His height and wigspan help out his defensive game. He’s a good driver but not outside shooter. Beal, Lamb, and Rivers are the other SG’s he has to compete with (and to extent his own teammate Terrance Ross. He could also be considered a SF) All 3 of those players are great shooters, and Wroten is certaintly not as capable as those 3 are. But regardless he does surpass them with his passing game. I can understand him being below Beal and Lamb, since they are both great shooters and passable passers as well, but below Rivers, who is not a good rebounder or a good passer, really just focuses on offense that’s it? Maybe the reason why he is not in the top 10 or lottery pick for that matter is because of fact that he is a tweener and no one is sure if he’s more of a PG or if he more of a SG. But regardless of this case he shouldn’t definitely be considered as a late lottery pick. (probably 10-14 range, behind Beal, and Lamb, slightly ahead of Rivers, and his teammate Ross)

of measurements he should easily be in the first round. I wouldnt be suprised if he was a lottery pick. I’d take him over any point gaurd projected in the first right now (Marshall, Teague, Kabongo). He’s considered a shoot-first gaurd right now, but i think that will change when he has more talent around him. He has a scoring mentality at Washington because he’s the best scorer. Once he’s in the league people will realize he has better vision then Teague and Kabongo.

I think the fact that Washington is underachieving in a weak Pac-12 is more to contribute to the lack of attention, not the fact that UW is a small program.

Continuing on my pervious post: If Wroten is more of a PG than a SG then he has Marshall, Kabongo, and Teague to compete with. Wroten is certainly bigger than all 3 of those players and he is a better scorer than all 3 of them. But when assessing a PG, probably the single most important number is his assist numbers. The fact that Wroten shares PG responsibilities with Gaddy may very well contribute to his somewhat low assist numbers (currently 3.3) While the other 3 competitors (Marshall, Teague, and Kabongo) each have the sole responsibility of PG for their respective schools. Therefore when assessing Wroten we have to pretend or speculate what his assist numbers would be if he were given sole responsbility of the PG position instead of sharing it with Gaddy. If that were the case, I think its reasonable to say that he would get about the same assist numbers as Kabongo and Teague(5.5, 4.4 respectively), but considerably lower than Marshall’s (9.6). Marshall is right considered a late lottery prospect, therefore if he is more of a PG than a SG then I think that this site has it about right. Lower than Marshall, but higher than Kabongo, and Teague because he has about the same passing ability as Kabongo, but is a better scorer than both Kabongo and Teague.

The fact that he is a tweener and that we don’t know if he is more of a PG or a SG and that he shares PG responsibilites with Gaddy could very well be the reason why Wroten is viewed as a mid first rounder instead of as a late lottery pick

Why do people keep on hyping this kid up?

He’s not a PG. He’s a ball dominant, slashing SG to me. I have no idea why people like him as a prospect. Like in Lance Stephenson’s situation, I think UW would be better off if he left.

If you just look at his raw numbers, he’s been productive. but beneath the surface i see a guy who has a net negative impact on his team. He’s so erratic, undisciplined and such a poor decision maker that he hurts his team more than he helps it. On top of being such a low bball IQ player, he’s ball dominant and doesn’t know how to play without it. Which means that the ball is in the hands of a poor decision maker for a big portion of the game. The Huskies are a very talented team. Talented enough to be top 25 and easily the most talented team in the pac 12, but they’ve had team chemistry problems all yr. IMO, Wroten is at the crux of it. When i watch him play, I get the impression that he’s playing for the scouts. He has no concept of playing within himself or getting his within the flow. His game is a series of forces and bad decisions on both ends of the court.
