no1ParticipantIs it just me cause with the moves the raps made they will be a top 4 seed in da east ( cavs, celts, magic) getting turkoglu was big and also getting jarret jack he averaged 13 ppg and 5 dimes. They should be contenders in the east

BasketballGuru24ParticipantToronto has no Chance as of right now…….but don’t sleep on them
They are a sleeper not a favourite to win the championship

Toronto16ParticipantWell of course I doubt they are title contenders this year, but moving forward they have a nice young team and a future superstar in DeMar DeRozan. They will be title contenders in 2-3 years.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThey’ll be talented offensively, but their bigs are still soft. Reggie Evans is the only tough guy they have up front.

Killer_kat12345ParticipantThey have a great starting front line with Bosh and Bargnani who both are great scorers, and both can play decent defense. But their bench is great for reasons that they are defensive beasts, in Reggie Evans, Rasho Nesterovic, and Patrick O’Bryant. Evans is known as the leagues top defensive and rebounding men, and Nesterovic and O’Bryant are both 7 foot big men, who are always in the paint giving their bodies for the game… Do not be too rash to judge the defensive intensity of the team.

Knicksboy34ParticipantThey remind me of Orlando last year.

IndianaBasketballParticipantYea… Minus the DPOY at center, which makes all the difference.

spencerishawesomethey have no chance but dont sleep on them? lol sittin on the fence, be bold!!
If Derozan steps up i could see them contending for a title.. But thats a lot for a rookie and the odds are against them.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantDerozan Will Be the lee of Next year…….Lee was not known as athletic and showed he can jump with th best of them……derozan people say he can’t shoot and he will shoot like the best of them

IndianaBasketballParticipantYou’re forgetting that Lee played four years at Western Kentucky. He came into the NBA ready to play right away. You can’t say the same for DeRozan. He’s still young and is going to need time to grow. Lee’s life was also made A LOT easier considering he had D12 on his squad. As good as Bosh is, he’s not on D12’s level.

RickyRubio9ParticipantAndrea Bargnani, their team is on his shoulders. lol. Seriously though, if he can put up 18 and 9 then they should be up there with Bosh going for 22 and 10. Their Frontcourt is looking good and adding Evans was a nice pickup. I like their guard play as well with a distributor in Calderon who can shoot and hit the open shot, a backup in Jack, we all know what he did towards the end of last season with the Pacers and lastly the Rookie…DeMar DeRozen, this is the make or break, if he can score at a high level of efficiency they should be a Top 4 seed. I know I forgot Hedo…um, yeah Hedo. A guy who is a playmaker and a misatch as his size of 6’10. I don’t really like his game though.

jojososaParticipantNow I dnt think they r better than tha wizard I think they can b a top 5 team n tha east wif gilbert back @ 100% tha line up, and a whole new attitdue I think they r jus better
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 4:23pm #192777
Meditated StatesParticipantThey also will give up a lot of points too. They will be a tough out during the season, and get smashed in the playoffs for not DN up.

gatorheelsParticipantI think they make the playoffs but I would say they are the 7th seed

PaulsJayhawksParticipantLooks like bc pulled off another sweet deal. George for Bellinelli …Are the Raps secretly being run by the United Nations??
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 4:39pm #192788
IndianaBasketballParticipantHmmm another scorer who plays zero D. Why are you so excited???
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 5:40pm #192830
rvirsalParticipantbosh and bargs are pretty soft, and they added turk who’s also pretty soft. i dont know bout rasho, but i’m sure evans is pretty tough, i think he should teach the european bigs some toughness down low. also, i doubt o’bryant gets some pt.
the raps can score, but i dont think they have the defense needed to win in the playoffs. sleepers, that’s for sure, contenders if they add 2 or more energy guys who like to do the dirty work (a varejao-type and a bowen-type). i think their best perimeter defender is antoine wright, remember how he cost dallas that game against denver, a few months back?

IndianaBasketballParticipantYes… I said S.O.F.T. Other than Reggie Evans, they have no big men who are willing to bang. Rasho played with the Pacers last season. YES he’s soft, not to mention unathletic and slow footed. He won’t be a factor defensively. I’m surprised you even dare mention the name Patrick O’Bryant lol.
Last season the Raptors gave up 101.9 points per game. That’s 20th in the NBA. Their opponents also shot almost 47% FGs against them. That’s 21st in the NBA. YES… They’re a bad defensive team who lacks toughness up front. When your best defense is to outscore the other team… That’s not a good thing.
