If you add draft picks and possibly another Sac player dump, this is not a bad trade.  Also you would have to have round one draft picks to Denver.

Better than many others I have seen, though I do not think the Kings would bite unless they received a little more. Still, makes more sense than most of the Melo deals being shucked around. The only thing is I do not think the Knicks give up Randolph and Gallinari unless they get something with Melo. But, not a bad trade to me for the Knicks/Denver, just do not think the Kings would give up Landry.

The trade would be decent if you factor in the Kings Like Landry at the 4, They Like Casspi and Greene at Sf…and the kicker, they love their 1st rounder more than a 2 to 3 game increase in Wins…Which I think i stretch…They lose a possible 6th man in Landry, and create a log jam at Sf with Gallo,Casspi and Greene(who I figure you’d force to play Pf)…Then they lose A shot at a top 3 PG in the draft(Their biggest need)…Cousins can play Pf and Gallo would be a slight upgrade at Sf but it wouldn’t be worth it for the Kings…They’d kill your Trade…

I think Denver would take a deal like this one…

Denver gets…Randolph,Chandler,Curry and 2011 1st round picks From NY and Portland

NY Gets…Carmelo Anthony and Rudy Fernandez

Portland gets Danilo Gallinari and a future 1st rounder from NY…

Isn’t New Yorks 2011 and 2012 picks gone to Houston in the Tmac deal? New York has no picks to give away for awhile. So if Denver wants picks its not coming from the knicks

The Kings wouldn’t trade a 1st round pick and 6th man Forward Carl Landry for Gallinari…They need Landry’s toughness and experience at the Pf spot and they have young guys at the Sf spot…They really could use a Starting Pg…But Felton would not be better than a shot at one of the Big Three at Pg This Year(Irving,Knight and Selby) The Kings will have a lottery pick and will be giveing up too much for Gallo…

The Blazers however have a Cry Baby Euro and will have no need for a late 1st rounder with all that depth…They could cut ties with Rudy and package him and the pick for Gallo and a future 1st…Gallo and Batum would be a very nice blend of offense and defense at the Sf…They still also have Babbit who could be a good Pf/S,f backing up LA at the 4…They only lose Rudy and late 1st rounder…

NY gets their guy and Rudy Fernandez…they just lose 3 young players and Eddie Curry plus a Pick this year and down the Line, 2013 at the latest…They want Melo and Amare, they can’t expect to keep the young guys Too…Next year they’ll gun for CP3 as planned in Gotham City…

Denver gets what they want sort of

    Established player…Wilson Chandler

    Young Player…Anthony Randolph

    Cap Relief…Eddie Curry

Draft Picks…NY and Portland Picks this year…They’d have 3 first rounders,2 young wings and 3 big Expiring Deals in Martin,Curry and JR Smith…They’ll have Randolph to mold as the future Pf,Chandler to play Sg and Sf

They will likely sign a Vet Sf like Tayshaun Prince and keep Billups for the rest of his career, he and Karl are all in There in Denver….If they struggle this year they draft high caliber youth in the top ten…or trade all 3 first rounders and move up in the draft and get a guy they really want to rebuild with…They won’t get more than this…

I just want it to get done already…If he and the rest of the world want it so much….

A kings pick is probably going to be very high. I dont see why they would trade a high lottery pick and Landry for Gall

The Rockets have the rights to swap picks…That’s why Portland gives the Nuggets another 1st rounder in my 3 way….and then just give the Blazers a first rounder in 2013 and Gallinari…They get rid of a cry baby in Fernandez and NY gets Melo and a Scorer…Rudy will get to start in NY…The Nuggets Get two young players from the Knicks…2 1st rounders this year and a Big Exping contract in Eddie Curry…At the end of the day they have 3 first round picks, 2 young players to add to their roster and Cap Space to sign a Veteran or two to bounce back very quickly and return to the playoffs next year…This season would likely be a wash…They’ll return next year better without The Melo, JR, Martin sideshow going on…

Where would Danilo fit on Portland? The Blazers love Nicolas Batum, just signed Wesley Matthews and have LaMarcus holding down the 4 spot. Where would Danilo fit into that? Otherwise, I too like that trade, just think that while it would be very nice to unload Rudy for Danilo, I have no idea how that trade would not make Danilo want to fly back to Italy as badly as Rudy wants to go back to Spain.

Batum is still too raw to start all season, He and Gallo actually look like Pippen/Kukoc combo except in this Case Gallo would start over Batum…The Blazers would have Wes in the backup Sg role in place of Rudy…2 solid Sf’s in Batum and Gallo and the rookie Luke Babbit (either Babbit or Gallo would get minutes backing up the Pf spot too)…

This trade would not at all hurt the Blazers…In fact I think it helps them with their rotations and three point ability…

Rudy can’t be on the floor as much as he want’s behind Roy and Gallo would start day 1…I think it helps both players find better places to highlight their talents…Even though the Blazers aren’t Big City USA Gallo want be featured heavily in that offense unlike a Team featuring Melo and Stat in New York…The Blazers really wanted Hedo last year in FA and could get a younger version for cheap…Rudy would love it in NY because he’d also get to start and shoot the ball a lot…The Knicks want Melo this year, Paul next year and a Championship run shortly after…Rudy could be the shooter at Sg next to Cp3,Melo and Amare in the starting lineup…It makes sense all the way around…I really love the Blazers too so I wouldn’t just say that on their end…The Nuggets score a lot too because they could get sqwuat…The Blazers get the Sf they wanted in Hedo and for a very nice price(Rudy and a late 1st rounder)

Makes way more sense than The Kings Trading a sure Lottery Pick and 6th man candidate

Sacremento may want more or they may want to hold on to Landry and trade Thompson. the Knicks wont part with Randolph so soon though they liked him since he came into the league. Wilson Chandler could be a possibility plus if this trade wetn throught Denver would have Martin-Harrington-Randolph-Landry at 4 so getting Thompson allows him to go 5/4 and Chandler can go 2/3 with Curry’s expiring deal that would be a great trade maybe JR Smith would be included so Denver could shed more money off the luxury tax he could start at the 2 for NYK or come off the Bench for Sacremento or New York

    Good Trade nonetheless

Not a bad point about the Gallo and Hedo thing, except I think they have realized exactly the upside Batum has at this point and know they dodged a bullet by not signing Hedo. Batum is the future man, and to play both of those guys half a game each would just be killing both of them. Gallinari would not be happy going to a team where he only plays half of the game, and Portland would not be happy having Danilo play spot minutes at the 4. Hedo was not what the Blazers need and neither is Danilo. The biggest thing the Blazers need right now is a rugged back-up 4 man and a healthy team, and Danilo would provide neither of those things.

kings need outside shooting badly so gallo would fit that role but casspi or greene would have to go, i wouldnt mind givin up landry because that would leave the kings with whiteside, cousins, thompson, dalembert as there bigs, but it doesnt make sense for the kings to give up a first rd pick for gallo when it will probably still be a high lotto pick

With all the talk about the Melo sweepstakes, I had a look on the ESPN trade machine and noticed that Dallas have combined trade exceptions of nearly $12 million combined which if you could use them all plus throw in DeShaun Stevenson’s expiring deal then you almost have equal trade value. Dallas would of course have to throw in extras like Dominique Jones and say a 2012 first round pick if Melo decided to commit beyond this season. Also once Ajinca and Mahimi become tradable then Dallas have other assets or they send Caron Butler the other way and less exceptions.

If Denver decided to start over then getting nearly $12 million in trade exceptions would probably save them double that when you throw in luxury tax costs as well plus if they waived Stevenson then the savings could be even greater. They get a young asset or two and whilst not getting major talent back hurts them this season it will push them up the draft lottery which may be what I want.

Dallas would have a big tax bill especially if Butler stayed but Mark Cuban seems happy to pay whatever is needed plus he may move games to the Cowboys new venue to get mega crowds in. If Dallas could sell 40,000 plus play off tickets then the revenue generated would be huge. Melo would be great for Dirk, Kidd, Butler, Marion, Haywood, Chandler. Terry and co. Plus Melo would be on a loaded roster so would have the chance to really compete. Also if it didn’t work out, Dallas would not have given everything away for a season’s rental and would have S and T options for Melo for next summer.

If you wanted a one year rental for Melo and Denver decided to get there own back then Toronto still have a $14.5 million trade exception from Bosh and could send the 2011 pick they get from Miami ( likely to be 26-30) range for a year of Melo. This could give Toronto a year’s boost and help them generate revenue plus Melo could help DeRozan for a year and they will have S and T options next summer. Melo may have to play through gritted teeth but with a lock out likely he’d still need to perform and would be fuming that Denver sent him north of the border and thus should be one of the NBA scoring leaders

Denver would save probably $28 million aprox in salary and luxury tax costs in one swoop and again minus Melo they may well be a lottery team plus the late first rounder from Toronto via Miami gives them extra draft options for next summer. Also no doubt sending Melo to Toronto might be considered quite sweet revenge.
