Yandyhere2ParticipantSo many people were HIGH on him, actually comparing him to CP3! When I said he wasn’t even on Kemba Walkers level, some will argue it’s just summer league, which is true but Burke struggled BAD REAL BAD, and some will point out Derrick Rose struggled as well, Derrick Rose is/was A TOP TIER NBA ATHLETE, Burke isn’t, not even close, he will struggle mightily in the NBA, and what makes it worse is….he isn’t a pass first PG, HE HAS TO SCORE TO GET HIS GAME GOING!
CJ MCCOLLUM TOP PG IN THIS CLASS MARK MY WORDS.

ItsRainingNegsParticipantAnd I told everyone Nerlens Noel was too injury prone to play. HE HASN’T PLAYED A GAME SINCE HE’S BEEN DRAFTED
Mark my words: (Enter Greek player Euroballer suggests here) will be the best center in this class!

Yandyhere2ParticipantDerrick Rose was a top tier athlete and we knew he’d be okay, Burke DID NOTHING to make people say he will be ok NOTHING AT ALL.
Name one positive Burke showed in Orlando…JUST ONE

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantBurke is a competitor, always will be. After struggling in SL, he will know that people are doubting him and he will work that much harder to become a better player before the season starts. He didn’t do as horrible as you act in SL, He didn’t shoot well but neither did KCP, so is KCP a bust already? Burke played three games. It’s called a shooting slump. And I could take 3 games in a row from anyones career and they could be just as bad if not worse. Bringing up Rose’s athleticism is ridiculous, just because Rose can rely on athleticism doesn’t mean that’s why he was successful.

Zeke313ParticipantI’m sorry but KCP played way better than Burke, he may have struggled his first couple games but he played well the last three. Burke played bad the whole SL, bad comparison.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantHe penetrated and made some nice dump offs. He’s going to get tons of playing time to work through any struggles he may have. Also, his quality of teammates will greatly improve where he doesn’t have to do it all.

BrentSuriaga01ParticipantDerrick Rose struggled in SL too. Very early to consider someone a bust. Get a life

Jester87ParticipantIt was just summer league…though I was kinda disappointed with his lack of quickness, I don’t care how bad he shot, what really made me think was his inability to beat the defender out of the dribble. But it’s just too early (also he looked a little bit out of shape to me). And I don’t think anyone has evered compared him to CP3.

Yandyhere2ParticipantJester87, plenty of people were comparing him to CP3, before SL you must haven’t been on in a while.
The guy is a backup in the NBA point blank period.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantWhen people compared him to CP3 they were comparing play styles, every single time i saw someone compare him to CP3 they prefixed it by saying that they were comparing style of play and did not think Burke would ever be as good as CP3. Burke is a smaller point who can shoot, drive and play in the pick and roll while finding team mates. He has a very similar play style to CP3. Is he as good as Chris Paul? No. Does he play like him? Yes.

Cavaliers420ParticipantWow, after a couple of SL games? Give the kid a break, he just had the biggest moment in his life happen in the draft, he obviously is trying to get the hang of things still, give him time, he will be fine.

Jester87ParticipantI’m not saying he’s a can’t miss guy, but stating that the fact he struggled in SL proofs he’s going to fail in the NBA makes no sense. There are of course some concerns about his explosiveness and quickness, but it’s just too early.

JoeWolf1Dion Waiters is shooting 29 FG 22 3pt despite being an All-Rookie 1st teamer as a rookie. Did he get worse? Of course not, SL can sometimes give you hints, but it should never be used as a sole reason to declare someone a bust or a star.

joecheck88ParticipantHonestly, I think in SL they let a lot of hand checking go. I think once defenders have to guard him without fouling he will be just fine. Could his game use work? Yes but he will be fine. Lots of unathletic guys have had very good careers. He will learn how to use his body better, when to pull up from 15 and when to finish at the rim. He showed the ability to find the open man when he did get in the paint. I think he will be just fine. Jarrett Jack, Steve Nash, Jose Calderon and a guy I think compares favorably in Jameer Nelson have all had successful careers. Just need to play, adjust and learn some tricks of the trade.

sportzryanParticipantyou think you deserve an award or something for saying something before it happens? How about this one?
I WILL TAKE A BIG DUMP LATER…. MARK MY WORDS!!
Burke is a work in progress nothing can be judged from one summer league experience for anybody. Same goes for an NFL preseason, or anything like that. Relax dude

fennisdemboParticipantIf he cant develop to finish around the rim consistently he is going to bust. This isnt from summer league it’s from his career at Michigan. Im a UofM lifer and i’m worried this will never change because the level of difficulty when it comes to rim protectors in the NBA will crush guys who cant finish. Kids got all the intangibles, i hope it’s enough
