pman23ParticipantI think that he can still be a starter on a contender team. He will start with the Mavs and I think he will average 8 and 7 with about 25-30 minutes a game. I think he can be a starter for about 3-4 more years.

mikeyvthedonParticipantThey should be a very good team, regardless of Chandler being their or not, but he is a step up from Brendan Haywood athletically. Haywood even had trouble keeping a starting gig with Erick Dampier, so I think it is Chandler’s to lose. That being said, I have always seen him as a gigantic underachiever. I do not think he is done, but I do not see him getting better than he is now. He is in a contract year and all, but he is pretty much who he is. He is a very good rebounder, he is a presence as a shot blocker, but he provides so little offensively. I have known about Tyson since he was in 8th grade, he was already 6-10 and his upside was pretty much compared to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. As HS went by, Tyson was a good player, but nothing spectacular, he did not dominate the rest of his class and it seemed as though Eddy Curry and Kwame Brown were better players than he was at the time. Though Tyson has surpassed both of them as his career has progressed, they have all been huge underachievers so that is not exactly something to be incredibly proud of and indeed, out of the top 4 in 2001, it is Pau Gasol by a total landslide as far as career goes. It just seems every time Tyson goes to another team or gets in a different situation, you think he is going to flourish, but he never seems too do it. He had a big couple years in New Orleans, and he was quite important to that team, but I think he was a lot less so for the Bobcats. You just kind of wonder why Tyson has not developed more of an offensive game and why he has never really been someone you can gets consistent points from. Jason Kidd could definitely be a huge help for him, but my expectations are very low, and I do not see Dallas doing much more than they have done the past few years, which is have a nice regular season and than crash in the play-offs.

the I in winParticipantHe has all the quickness and most of the athleticism that he had 3 years ago when Chris Paul made him look great so I guess if Kidd can do the same thing then yes he is a championship team caliber center.

JNixonParticipantHe can start on a contender, but he would have to be apart of a rotation where he has to play relatively limited minutes (no more than about 25 mpg) with a bunch of gifted scorers. Aka the Dallas Mavs.

dipt1982ParticipantYeah, he can and will start, he will have no problem fitting in with Dallas either, they have a lot of scorers, and he will be able to get inside trash points with all those shooters. He can rebound well and get out to block a couple shots given his length. It should work out well for the Mavs until the playoffs (like always)…

JoeWolf1When he played with the USA team a few years ago in 07′ that really got him going for the regular season and he put up almost 12 and 12 that season, you can tell he loves playing with Team USA and he seems to be healthy too. He is still a compitent player and put up 6 and 6 in just over 20 minutes while being banged up all year. If he can stay healthy I could see him putting up 8 and 8 or 9 and 9 next year splitting time with Haywood. Dallas with Haywood and Chandler have 20 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks with their 1st and 2nd string centers, that is some big time defensive production at the C position and I definately think Dallas, although not a favorite is a contender next year.

HitsterParticipantTyson had two great years at NOH between 2006 and 2008 but the last couple of years he has struggled with injury. With Dallas he is on the strongest team he has ever been on and will probably be told to concentrate on his defence as his scoring will not really be a factor. Trying to close off the opposing C’s and being a shot changer should be his key roles. As it is contract year he will know that he needs to produce to get a good contract next summer with Dallas or any other team.
Tyson was only 18 when drafted and took time to develop at Chicago before really shinning at NOH but this year is crucial for him as it may be his last chance to get a really good deal and needs to put in 70 plus games.
