llperezTonight, ucla is 9-3 and playing better with shabazz and Kyle Anderson both coming on stronger. I watched mizz vs Illinois and they looked like a very good physical team. Ucla is back in the top 25 hunt with a win tonight. Let’s go bruins.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI saw some reports on Twitter last night that Tony Parker is seriously thinking about leaving UCLA……
UCLA needs this game more then Missouri does..A win with ease some pressure off coach Howland….But in order to get the win, they’ve got to hit the boards, take care of the ball and make their shots…..Missouri is 2nd in the nation in rebounding, even their point guard is averaging close to 4 rbs a game…
We all know UCLA can score, but to win this game, they got to show they can play some defense….

WolfRobParticipantI think the physicality of missouri might be too much…Hope I’m wrong.

SiggyParticipantI think this Mizzou team is better than last yr’s team. They’re not as skilled as last yr’s team but they’re deeper, stronger, more physical, better defensively with better size all over the place. UCLA’s best hope will be to pack it in, play a lot of zone and dare Mizzou’s shooters to beat em from the outside. UCLA’s gotta clean up the boards though, MIZZ kills the o-glass.

JNixonParticipantI love little Flip Pressey’s game. This game wouldve been even more real if Mike Dixon didnt leave the team too

Dale WorthingtonParticipantAlthough my Preseason Top 14 came out very ugly, I am very pleased with my selection of Mizzou at #6.
Mizzou is one of the few truly complete teams in the land and has a legit shot at going all the way. They were a 30 win squad last year but had glaring holes in post play and depth.
Those two deficiencies have been rectified with the additions of Oriakhi from The Conn, Bowers back from injury (a lethal hybrid forward), and several nice transfers on the wing.
This team was 275th in rebounding last year!!! 275th!!! Now they’re #1!
Phil Pressey is one of the best facilitators in the land, as well. The one thing about Mizzou, though, is that they haven’t found their stroke. If they want to go to the Final Four, they have to be more consistent dropping Js.

llperez19-11 ucla, wear twins looking good. Dumb tech by oriakhi. Tried to stare down the ref and wouldnt give him the ball then slammed it down on the floor like come get it if you want it.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 5:42pm #735830

llperezucla looks pumped and are attacking quick. This is as fast as they have ever played under howland.

For_Never_EverParticipantUCLA is lighting them up right now. My first time seeing Shabazz finishing a lay-up with his right hand.
0- Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 5:44pm #735831

llperezyeah, they dumped into him and when he went right hand i didnt think it was him for a minute

llperezmizz scoring every time down now. 3 threes on 3 straight possesions
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:08pm #735833

llperez47-47 at the half. Both teams cant be happy with their defense.
mizz is 5-12 from three while ucla is 0-6. However the bruins have just one turnover while the tigers have 9.

M-EazyParticipantPhil Pressey is balling!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:29pm #735835

For_Never_EverParticipantShabazz should have gone to his right hand on that lay-up he made. It would have been the safe move to make. I wanna see him attempt fake going left then go right, because the defender is playing him extremely tight on his left.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:34pm #735836

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantIf the Wear twins had as much skills on defense a they have on offense, they would be lottery picks.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:34pm #735837

llperezpressey has 15 assists with 13 minutes remaining. The team is completely relying on him to create everything right now and he is delivering.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:36pm #735838

llperezits pressey vs the wear twins
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:37pm #735839

llperezis missouri always this good a shooting team? Ross, brown and pressey can not miss.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:40pm #735841

llperezAndersens handle is fine, he jst doesnt have the speed to use it like a pg. He will not be a pg at the next level.
And HUGE 4th foul on oriakhi with 10 minutes left.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:40pm #735840

For_Never_EverParticipantKyler Anderson handle isn’t on par with a PG handle. He has to give Pressey his back every single trip down the court.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:49pm #735844

llperezback to back steals and uncontested breakaway layups for mizzu, up 6 now. Lets see what ucla’s mental toughness is like being down now
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:49pm #735845

Lebron’s HairlineParticipant5’10-5’11, no doubt some teams will give him a look in the second round though.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:50pm #735843

For_Never_EverParticipantPressey is he under 6ft ?
0- Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 11:15pm #735894

llperezucla gonna lose it. Shabazz didnt get any touches these last 10 minutes although they wont lose becasue of offense, it will be the lack of defense.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:54pm #735846

For_Never_EverParticipantRoss has a NBA body and athleticism. He is very limited offensively, but can knock the long ball.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:58pm #735849

llperezafter watching mizzu vs illinois, i told my friends they have the second coming of correy magette on the wing. Ross is jacked
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 6:58pm #735848

For_Never_EverParticipantI think Bill Walton is raving about Ross build too right now.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 7:01pm #735850

llperezpressey now racking up turnovers, 3 here in the last few minutes letting ucla back in it
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 7:05pm #735852

llperezpressey with the terrible decision there. Up 2 but a 28 second differenc ein hte shot clock and game clock so the tigers need to score and he dribbles down to 2 seconds left and jacks up an ugly contested airball three. His decision making has been poor down the stretch.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 7:06pm #735853

llperezjordan adams with the game tying basket with 10 seconds left. Lets see what mizzu has…

akhan786ParticipantI love Shabazz’s tenacity on defense and on the boards.
AND LOL at that dude missing what was supposed to be Pressey’s 20th assist. Ultimate fail.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 7:19pm #735859

llperezr they f’ing kidding me? Im am so mad right now at the bruins just ignoring shabazz on offense he is the man. They are going one on one with everyone but him.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 7:25pm #735861

For_Never_EverParticipantPeople were saying Shabazz jumper is streaky, but it looks elite to me. He just doesn’t really have the ability to create his own offense.
0- Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 7:39pm #735866

Dale WorthingtonParticipantI agree. Shabazz seems to make wide open 3s and layups/dunks in transition. I didn’t see the whole game because I was switching back and forth with Minnesota/TT but Pressey needs to get better shooting, Brown needs to utilize his athleticism more…not sure how Bell missed that easy layup and not sure where Oriakhi was all night.
P.S., Bill Walton is a wise man and absolutely hilarious!
0- Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 7:43pm #735870

llperezspeaking of bill, he used to always say funny things like when a guy would throw up an ugly air ball he would say how his teammates should be ready the exquisite passing skills of said player. He did that again tonight. Shabazz was triple teamed under the basket and forced it up with the ball missing the rim and bill praises his high iq realizing if hes triple teamed just throw it to the opposite side of the rim where you surely have teammates ready, lol.

llperezbruins win!!!!!!!
So happy right now. TOnight should crush any doubters about what shabazz is made of. They litteraly draw up no plays for him and he just plays within the offense spotting up and running the lanes and posting up when there’s chances. If they made a little bit more of a conscious effort to get him the ball, he cold be even more dominant.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 7:31pm #735863

For_Never_EverParticipantThey should have drawn up a play for Ross to take the shot. Everything was bad for them at the end.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 8:31pm #735879

BlueLacesParticipantLoved listening to Bill Walton call the game and overall was a fun game to watch. However, if I were Mizzou, I would have called a quick timeout on that offensive rebound so you could draw up a play to at least try and get you a decent look instead of dribbling back out to the 3 pt line and throwing up a hail mary.. I think there was still like 2.5 seconds left on the clock when they got possesion of the ball and still had one timeout left.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/28/2012 - 8:47pm #735883
SiggyParticipantMizzou’s lack of 2ndary ball-handler hurt them in the end. Flip practically played the entire game at a high level and looked fatigued, at least mentally towards the end of regulation which led to some bad plays on his part, like the late consecutive TOs and the airball. Haith made some questionable calls as well, like keeping out Oriakhi down the stretch and that final play, with Pressey inbounding it.
That was the best game I’ve seen UCLA play up to date and they needed it. The Wear twins came through. For them to have continued success, the twins are gonna have to play more I think. They’re the perfect pressure release for the other scorers since they can pop and make those easy jumpers from mid-range. If they start knocking down those jumpers at a high clip, that opens up driving lanes, passing lanes and it brings the help further away from the lane.
