    curious to know

    i have a few

1st one: i was playing against a D2 player in a rec game 5 on 5… and the first 3 games i was playing against him he was really outplaying me… then after that 3rd game… i was absoulutely outplaying playing this guy… scoring like 2 thirds of my teams points… i had one crossover on him which was insane… left him in the dirt!! i mean it was nasty probably my best crossover of my life, it was a good moment… the guy i was playing against was just a real good athlete to, at least 2 or 3 yrs older than me… and remember i didnt even play for my HS team this yr, going up against a D2 player… that was a great moment for me…

2nd: i was at lifetime playing 5 on 5. and b4 i started playing these 2 freshmen were kinda talking smack to me saying i wasnt to good, etc… they never saw me play and the other team had this player who was cocky as a mug it seemed. he was guarding me and i was guarding him… I SHUT HIM DOWN!! no exagerration… i was derrick rosing all over that team… those guys werent slouches either… those 2 freshmen never doubted me again lol

3rd: i was playing intermural at this university… my team sucked balls, and i was basically our savior… it was a playoff game in the losers bracket and we had to face the number one seed in our bracket… it was a really good game throughout, tho we lost.. but that game i had 39 points, felt great… 18 points in the first half… for the start of the 2nd half i had missed my first 5 shots… but i still managed to get 21 2nd half points…

i was playing a pick up 5 on 5 and this guy was just ripping on me because i’m white and he thought he was better than kobe bryant. so he goes around me on a pick and roll because my big sucked. so next i’m on offense and just break his ankles and float it in from the free throw line. so next he gets the ball on offense tries to break my ankles and tries to pull the kemba walker move and i block it right on his face and take the ball and dunk on the other end on his @ss

Sprained my ankle, had a game two days later, my dad told me not to play, I insisted, and I scored 27 points, 4 threes, and we won by like 20. Every trip up and down the floor was a pain, and my D was terrible cause I couldn’t slide my feet.

We were playing against an obviously inferior team, we already creamed them once, but here we were with 20 seconds down by 1. Our guard is able to dribble his way to the baseline adn get a nice shot, but he misses it. I then get the rebound and put it back in with 5 second left. And then I deflect the our of bounds pass and we win.

The whole 8th grade season. We are a very small public school, with 180 kids, and other in our league have upto 1,200 kids. We made the playoffs as the last seed, but had to play an undefeated team. We won by three, and the whole team became like heros at school. Random kids in the Hallway would would wish us good luck. I was so hyped. I was 13 and had a beard and a mustache, and there were songs about my beard, and living in San Francisco, I joke that Brian Wilson stole fear the beard from me. We even had a pep rally. Most schools don’t have kids at the games in the stands, they have just parents, if anyone. We were at Kezar stadium, playing Presidio, a huge 1,200 kid school, but on their side, they only had like 20 people, mostly parents. Now on our side, we had like 80 parents and kids, from our school, kids that weren’t even on the team, heck even relatives of people that weren’t on the tema were there. They ewere literally chanting stuff and there were signs and everything. We were a defensive so It was a low scoring game, and my moment was and and one. We lost by 4, butI will never forget that magical run.

I played against Bismack Biyombo about 30 years ago in the Congo. I would say Bismack was about 25 years old at this point. we were playing in front of his mud house with an orange juice as the basket and rocks as basketballs. Bismack had the rock, dunked it on me and i was standing right under the basket. the rock gave me a huge cut right under my eye and i had to get stitches for it. now i have a scar there, but it is pretty cool that i can say that an nba player did this to me.

I was at a Hoop Group camp playing in a scrimmage, and some guy switched on to me and I knew I had a mismatch and I crossed this kid so bad. He was stumbling backwards in the other direction and I took it to the basket and got fouled hard by his teammate and got an and 1. It felt pretty good to hear the oohs and aahs from my teammates and people watching the game. I’m not sure if it was my best moment but it felt pretty good. Probably the best crossover I’ve ever pulled on somebody in my life.

My Freshman year, which was two years ago, I was about maybe 5’4 100 Pounds at the time. I was the second to last to be picked, and what do I do? I got out and score 21 Points and 7-8 from 3 Range

Not really a scoring moment, but on this one AAU Game, this dude was KILLIN us. It was pretty much a one man show and he was scoring all over the place. I’ve always been a good defender, so the coach calls a timeout and says to run a Box and One defense with me guarding that other dude. This was after i had gone down with a cramp around 5 or 6 minutes before. So i was still feelin the cramp but i just went out and did my thing. The dude didn’t score another point, started forcing up shots when he got the ball, just completely threw him off the game (i remember i was talking mad ish to him the whole time i was guarding him haha) and we came back from like a 15 point deficit in the first half to win. I didn’t score a whole lot of points though i scored like 6 or something i did have a couple steals tho.

We were at Offsaa (the canadian version of state finals…this the ontario version) in highschool and our team was down by 7 with 1:37 sec left on the clock (remember because we just called timeout)….Coming out of the timeout we decided to put a man press and if they got over half to foul…The ball was inbounded there point guard (honestly there best player) and I quickly stripped him clean to make a layup….They inbounded again to the same guy and this time I drew a charge…We quickly ran a set and hit a 3 cutting the lead to 2 ..We were then forced to foul with 12 seconds left in the game ….Guy missed both (big choke) and we called our final timeout….We brought the ball up the court and my buddy made a great cross over drive down the lane and my defender decided to drop down to help leaving me wideee open in the corner….I got the pass and proceeded to release the ball just as I heard the buzzer…nothing but net and we won the game staying alive in the tourney….We proceeded to get our @ss handed to us next game by the 1 seed but that was my best moment ever

Ok well I just graduated High School

#1 moment was when I was on in my junior year b/c i was on JV…(6th man for varsity the next year) and we were playing st. Pats and our team played against Kyrie and Michael Gilchrist. Well Kyrie played the 1st quarter scored 22 and then never returned to the game. Michael played the whole game and only scored 14….However I normally didnt get into any games bc I was on Jv. I got into the game because we were down 28 points and I guarded Michael Gilchrist for 4 possesions.

#2 moment was about a month ago I was playing a pick up game in our local courts and I was on the same team as dennis Horner( Started on NC State 2years ago) and I threw him a perfect ally oop from like half court. He didnt try very hard at all but he was the best player i have ever played with. Also we stayed on the court for like 5 runs.

1st: I was down at my local gym shooting with my brother and cousin, and I saw a guy wearing shorts from the Australian National team down the other end. I figured he was just a fan or something, so we kept balling. After a little while he asked which one of us was best, and whether we wanted a game of 1 on 1. I said yeah, and the first game he absolutely destroyed me 11-3, even dunked on me (first time I’d ever been dunked on, felt awesome). I’m only 5’10" and he was around 6′, but I knew I could do a better job against this guy.

He played my older brother after me (won convincingly), and after he had a little break I asked for a rematch, and I managed to battle him to 11-8. It was only as we were leaving the gym that he told me I shouldn’t feel too bad because he was part of the Australian national team, and that’s why he was wearing the shorts. Made me feel a whole lot better, even if I lost both times.

2nd: We were playing in the championship game in my final year of club basketball, and one guard on the other team was killing us, because our starters were letting him do the same crossover move every time down the court. My coach had his favourites and I wasn’t one of them because I only joined the team that season from a higher division, so I wasn’t getting too many minutes, but whenever I guarded this guy I straight-up locked him down. With around 5 minutes left we were down 20 so the coach put me back in to play out the game. It was the final minute, and close to the last play when this guy called a clearout against me, waving off the screen. I relish defensive challenges and read his crossover perfectly and blocked it away, which was huge because I’m not normally a shot-blocker. I still blame my coach for not giving me more chances to stop that guy, and costing us the championship, but I was just glad I was able to defend that one isolation play.

Would be attending the 1996 NBA Finals at Key Arena, versus the Chicago Bulls. 26 Rows up right hand side of the aisle left of the logo. Personal, the game winning swat up by one with less than fives seconds to go, rebuking the last attempt easily.
