valentineassuming new orleans and minnesota both have bad records, and they are lucky enough to get the 1st and 2nd pick, what would you do if you were the gm?
would you just take Drummond and Davis and then just trade 2/3 of: Okafor/Kaman/Landry?
would you take one big man and trade down for a good sf?
how about trade one of those picks and a big man for a major superstar to team with Gordon?
I know its early but what would you guys do?

Tiger1313Participanthmmm great question. I would certainly take drummond or davis..then idk what I would do with the other pick. Trade it along with a big man such as okafor/kaman/landry for a point guard or forward.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantI’d take whoever I thought were the two best players available regardless of position. Right now that would be Drummond and Davis. Pretty sure that Kaman and Landry’s contracts expire after this year anyway so there shouldn’t be a logjam. Okafor would be a good veteran big man to learn under. Aminu would be their SF of their future with the incumbent swingman Trevor Ariza providing good defense. EG will be their #1 scorer and Jack will be their PG.
LOL, in theory they would have enough salary cap space in 2013 to go after Chris Paul and get him back. LMAO that is highly unlikely but would be hilarious.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe chances are low that they’ll get the top two picks (maybe Stern might do a little somthing something for them though), but it’s a sure thing they’ll have two lottery picks in a loaded draft.
The Hornets are going to be in nice shape regardless if they make the right moves.

OhCanada-ParticipantDrummond and Micheal Kidd Gilchrist. They already have a potential elite scorer in Gordon. They have plenty of capable big men so drafting a second big would create a logjam. In my opinion they would need a SF with the second pick either Barnes, MKG, or try to fit P.Jones in at SF. since New Orleans already has a go to scorer with Gordon drafting MKG to be the glue guy to gaurd guys like Lebron James, Kevin Durant, and Carmelo Anthony would be the best fit.

F_DA_POParticipantYou take Drummond and Davis without a question. These guys are the two best prospects since Blake Griffin.

Sam_HinkieParticipantThe only problem is that EJ is not resigning with them…He’s going to the Pacers 100%.
So I’d take one of the 2 big (probably Drummond) and then a wing (Barnes, Lamb, MKG, Pery Jones maybe). And then try to tade Gordon for somebody like Collison, Paul George, granger

torukParticipanti would go for these too. i think they are set at sg with gordon, and they should get better players at all the others positions but i dont think there are great players for the pg position and sf position. I am not sold on any point guard and harrison barnes does not have the upside that anthony davis and andre drummond have. So i would try to keep landry and resign kaman if he is cheap. keep ariza and try do develop aminu, let jack start until we find a starting pg.

F_DA_POParticipantThis board is ridiculous. I say they are the 2 best prospects since Griffin….. So are the people who negged me saying John Wall is better than either of these two??? GTFO

BasterdInABasketParticipantI guarantee NO gets a top 2 pick, Stern wants to make that franchise look as desirable for someone to buy as he possibly can. NJ is my other bet to get the 1 or 2 pick with them as a big market team getting an elite prospect like Drummond.
NO would have to look to Drummond if available of course, no PG would be worthy in the top 5, but Barnes and Davis or Drummond along with EG would be great building blocks

Scottoant93Participantdamn i totally misread this topic, I would would take MKG and Drummond .
@thebigmeech think again he stated he wanted to resign with the hornets and they are in talks about an extension

ChrisCrossParticipantDavis and MKG

PulseGlazerParticipantKaman is a free agent after this year, Landry after next. You take Drummond and Davis and don’t look back or think twice.

Lotto StudParticipant"would you just take Drummond and Davis and then just trade 2/3 of: Okafor/Kaman/Landry?"
I hope the outcome would be nothing like the Bulls in 01 with Curry & Chandler.

OhCanada-ParticipantAre you guys high. What makes you think Davis is a better prospect then Wall?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/06/2012 - 2:50am #622136
khaled_a_dParticipantDavis and Drummond ,They are the best 2 prospects who plays the PF/C position
they are set at the SG position,Eric Gordon will RFA but they will resign him for sure
they need a PG ,but I don’t think any in this draft worth a top 5 pick ,as for SF ,Barnes&MKG are good, but again doubt they are good enough to take over the Davis and Drummond
As for there Veteran big men,Kaman Contract end in 2012 and probably
Landry in 2013
Okafor in 2014
so there contracts won’t be really bad for the Hornets at that time to think too much about it0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/06/2012 - 6:01am #622170
joecheck88ParticipantI wouldn’t have a problem with them taking Drummond & Davis as long as they realize they are getting to raw offensive big men. Aminu seems like a bench player and Ariza may not fit in long term. So Barnes may not be a bad choice either. They really need a PG but there isn’t one in this draft that should go top 5(maybe top 10 either). I don’t know if they could package a pick & player for a good young PG but they can try. They are going to be in a tough spot for a few years, so they should take the 2 highest guys on their board.

PulseGlazerParticipantRight, everyone acts like Davis and Drummond preclude another high pick the next year – they won’t. Hell, they’d be splitting time with Okafor and, for the first year, Landry while they developed. Add them, see development, and then find either a 3 or a 1 the year after. If they’re as dominant as they seem inside, with Gordon spacing the floor? There should absolutely be options.
