What will the Melo trade look like in your opinion?
I think it will look bad.. Some team is going to give up too much for a guy that wont resign with the team and ruin their future for on year where they get to the second round of the playoffs..
If we assume that Melo would be a rental to GSW then it works quite well, but Denver would surely want some kind of pick back as if they do an S and T then they may get at least one first round pick.
Nuggets get:
Derrick Favors
2011 1st Round Pick
2012 1st Round Pick
Nets get:
Carmelo Anthony
The Nuggets shouldn't be worrying about acquiring expiring contracts because they already have K-Mart ($16.5M) and Nene ($11.4M) coming off the books next year, plus J.R. Smith though he'll probably get traded. Here they get an awesome young talent in Favors (who will play the whole season at age 19) and a couple first round picks (which they really want).
From the perspective of a kings fan, i'm hoping denver would accept:
Dalembert (expiring contract of 14 mil)
donte greene (young 'project' player with a ton of potential)
francisco garcia (expiring contract next summer i believe and a solid rotational guy)
A first or second rounder whichever theyd take
for Carmelo.
This would be entirely contingent on whether we could get melo to agree to an extension because otherwise i can guarantee it wont happen. And no team ever has "too much" cap space. Denver would be able to sign 2 max guys next summer with that much cap space. A big three of tyreke, carmelo and demarcus would be phenomenal and with the correct players around those three, we could make major noise in the west. I dont know if it'll happen because i dont know if petrie would do anything unless it would really benefit us in terms of the other little details such as whether carmelo agrees to an extension, which other players we have to give up etc but if we were able to play our cards right and get it done i will be even more excited than i already am for the upcoming season
If I'm Denver, Why would I want Biedrens, Vlad and Gadruizc? To be honest, your gonna have to throw a actual "good" player in there plus a couple 1st rounders. Houston, New Jersey and New York all could throw out a better deal then that. Denver wants talent back bud.
That Nets deal is even worse. To get Melo, there probably have to give up Lopez from what I'm hearing.
Denver Receives
Michael Redd- 18 mil expiring
Chris Douglas-Roberts- young potential
Carlos Delfino- solid player, good contract
Milwaukee 2011 1st round (with option to switch for bulls 1st round pick)
Milwaukee 2011 2nd round
Milwaukee Recieves
Carmelo Anthony- making them an instant contender.
JR smith- Solid backup guard for their Team
Milwaukee isnt out of the 2011 draft because they still have the bulls 2nd round pick from the John Salmons trade
Denvers lineup
Chancey, Lawson
Afflalo, Redd
Delfino, CDR
Martin, Harrington
Nene, Birdman
Milwaukees lineup
Jennings, Boykins
Salmons, Smith
Carmelo, Maggette
Gooden, Ilyasova
Bogut, Sanders
GSW sends: Monta Ellis, Andris Biedrins, and a first round pick
Den sends: Carmelo Anthony
The Nuggets don't want big contracts. They want a couple young guys, a expiring contracts and depending on the players- draft pick(s)
Why even take Monta Ellis back? They have Billups and why go to a small lineup.
I don't see him going to Golden State because they have no prospects.
They might need monta........Billups will likely be out by tradeline since i doubt they will be a contender. With age he just wants to win a championship and will melo gone all chances are gone 2
as a nets fan i really dont know what i want them to do....obviously carmelo is a draw and would be a centerpiece to build around...but are we gonna scrap this effort inorder to get him? i refuse to lose lopez and am pretty reluctant to give up favors or harris but obviously one or both would have to go...i guess if they did get him i would be OK with harris, murphy, and damion james along with a couple first round picks with melo and kmart in return....twill could be something special and im hot and cold on favors but id like to think he has the work ethic to be pretty special himself....so i guess the starting lineup would be:
twill / farmar
morrow / james
melo / outlaw
martin / favors
lopez / petro
looks pretty solid, would be expecting alot from twill but i guess farmar could take the bulk of the minutes till twill really gets it and takes the helm fulltime
I know if the stories are correct and Katt Stacks opened a case against Melo his trade stock my have took a little hit. And I think the Rockets trade makes the most sense.
Katt stacks deserves whatever she gets. Everyone know she just wants some attention. Know one going to sympathize and this is little to no way going to hurt carmelos trade stock
Melo for Vince and Gortat and Orl 1st rounder.
Not gonna happen but I would love to see it. I would love to see the guys on the Heat sweating bullets if this was to go down.
Some of these trade proposals are interesting, they work better if Mello is a rental player I guess.
Maybe Denver likes Monta Ellis a lot who knows, then they'd trade Billups and JR away as well and rebuild around Lawson, Ellis.
Gadzuric, Vlad, Biedrins how does this help the Nuggets
Favors and 2 1st round picks that won't get it done, Favors is an unknown in the league rite now.
Those picks wouldn't be as good the Nets with Harris, Mello, Lopez at worst would be a 35-40 win team.
Redd is basically done he's just taking up a roster spot, Delfino and CDR nice role players and a pick that won't be that good. The Bulls are a top 4 team and Bucks after this trade could be a top 3 team in the East.
How about Orlando trades a future 1st Carter, Gortat, Pietrus, Bass and Ryan Anderson for Mello, Kmart, J.R. Smith and Renaldo Balkman.
Denver would be taking on long term salary in Gortat and Bass but moves Balkman's salary.
Orlando would have to sign a backup Center maybe Earl Barron.
Orlando's lineup would be
Nelson/Williams/Duhon
Redick/J.R. Smith
Mello/Richardson/Balkman/Robinson
Lewis/Kmart/Orton
Howard/Barron
Nuggets lineup would be
Billups/Lawson/Carter
Carter/Affalo
Pietrus/Ryan Anderson
Harrington/Chris Anderson/Bass/Williams
Nene/Gortat
This may not seem like a big deal but it kinda is, if someone where to take up melo's offer and lay hands on her it's an even bigger deal, and this doesn't show melo in the best light. Even if he doesn't get into trouble with the law it still rises questions about his maturity and his character.

Sorry, i didnt know you were the GM of the Denver Nuggets. Anyways, i do think GSW have prospects. They have Steph Curry and David Lee...up and coming stars. They have solid wings in Reggie Williams and Dorrell Wright. Please dont say they dont have any prospects because ALL NBA teams have prospects. smh
Sorry, i didnt know you were the GM of the Denver Nuggets. Anyways, i do think GSW have prospects.
Tradeable prospects? I don't think so. I don't see GSW giving up Curry for Melo. Melo is better then David Lee so why would I want him unless a couple picks are coming my way. Reggie Williams is not a legit trade piece. Dorrell Wright was a scab in Miami.
Where are these prospects?
As i stated above, they have Monta Ellis & Andris Biedrins to use as tradeable prospects. IMO, the only players on the Warriors roster who are untouchable are Stephen Curry and David Lee. Other tradeable prospects are Vlad and Gadzuric (expirng contracts as nateoak10 stated), hell throw in Brandon Wright if you want. The Warriors have tradeable prospects.
But Denver wants young prospects, expiring contracts AND draft picks. Why would I take Biedrens ( who's a less offensive D-Lee), Monta Ellis ( good but high price tag).
They have the exp contracts and picks ( they don't have one in 2011- NJ has it) so where are we looking at? Branden Wright? Gadzu? Vlad?
I'm almost 100% sure Denver will look at GSW and say no thank you.
Omri Casspi, Carl Landry, 2011 1st Round Pick, 2013 1st Round Pick
For
Carmelo Anthony, 2011 2nd Round Pick
This gives Denver a SF to replace Carmelo in the line-up, a very good PF who is expiring--would be a good re-sign option for Denver, and 2 first round picks (probably in the 20's)
I could see Denver asking for Jason Thompson instead of Landry.. It depends on what they want--Giving up Landry would be better for Sacramento because they will need the rebounding and Landry's strength is not on the glass... Also Donte Greene could be swapped with Casspi, but Casspi is better right now.
Fransisco Garcia or Hasaan Whiteside could be thrown in as well.
Omri Casspi, Carl Landry, 2011 1st Round Pick, 2013 1st Round Pick
For
Carmelo Anthony, 2011 2nd Round Pick
It's a nice deal. I would ask for Jason Thompson and probably Whiteside and let them keep Landry to be honest. Plus- Dalembert because they want a exp contract.
Kings won't give up Thompson, Dalembert, and Whiteside... That leaves them with: Cousins and the expiring Landry for big men--Nor do I think they give up Dalembert and JT-Giving up too much rebounding.
If they give up more than 1 big man, expect the Kings to ask for Kenyon Martin in return.

Out of all the rumored teams what do you think the offers/final trade will look like?
I'll throw out my trade idea to start it
GSW sends Biedrins(they tried to get him this offseason, Vlad(expiring) and Gazduric (expiring) to DEN
DEN send Melo to GSW and JR to MEM
MEM sends Henry and a TE and a 2nd for JR (hes a expiring which they like since they need to resign Gasol)
