Whats up with all these knee injuries??
It sucks & the NFL is even worse.
I hope it doesnt have to do with some of these shoes these companies are releasing (regarding BBALL injuries) & trying to look to fancy & light & all that crap.
Well yea compared to like the 70s but I cant remember there being so many acl injuries in the decade. And I seriously doubt players of now are that much more athletic compared to 5,10 years ago. Maybe its just my memory only remembering the recent injuries
3 years ago when I was a senior in college we talked about how injuries tend to go in trends in my kinesiology class. Obviously they aren't contagious but at that point and time achillies ruptures were very common. We had one on our basketball team and even one of our coaches tore his achillies in practice.
You would think that by now we would have figured out how to significantly lessen the amount of knee injuries across all sports...
It's really ruining the game and in some cases ruining peoples' lives.
There has been many a great career washed away due to knee injuries. Its not good that we miss out on some of the best players before they reach their prime.
Playing 82 games plus playoffs dont seem to help either....
Pretty much any player that relies on speed or athleticism has or is at risk of getting hurt, guys like Pierce or Melo haven't suffered knee injuries of that extent
So much is expected of these kids like Noel coming into the game that when they get hurt it is major news. Years ago before the internet and 24 hour coverage of sports there may have been around the same amount of injuries just much less coverage of the injuries.

I may be wrong but it seems knee injuries, more specifically acl tears have become so common recently. Just off the top of my head, Ricky Rubio, Shumpert, Derrick Rose, Rondo, and recently Leandro Barbosa and maybe Nerlens Noel. Seems the basketball world has been hit with the knee injury bug... whats up with all these players and importantly all these exciting players going down?
