HaleParticipantA 27 year old who consistently averages 20 ppg 8 rpg 5 apg 1.5 spg 1 bpg with 48% FG 43% 3pt and 84% FT on borderline playoff team. NOT A REAL PLAYER. What would he get in FA? 5 mil a year? 10? Max?

mwardiaParticipantabout 11 mill in my eyes, that seems to be a damn good player

HaleParticipantLets say he just came off his best season. 22 ppg 9.9 rpg 5.6 apg 1.7 spg 1 bpg 49 FG% 48 3PT% 84 FT%. Think he could get a max offer? Say his team went far in the playoffs

sayounhParticipantMax. Especially in this year’s free agency. Rudy Gay, who just signed a max contract, posts 20ppg but nowhere near the FG% 3PFG% and Assist numbers as your imaginary player so he’d probably get a max contract.

OhCanada-ParticipantIn the NBA he would get a max offer.

mwardiaParticipant@sayounh… did rudy gay really deserve a max contract though??? gay is a really good player, but he isnt elite at all, the grizz only payed him max so he woodnt leave their team, they prob know he isnt worth a max contract

HaleParticipantThat’s what I thought, even though he would be a way more amazing second option.

dahoodrecruiterParticipantso let me get this right….rudy gay is a max player but paul gasol was just thrown to lakers?? wat is that front office for grizzles thinking?/?

sayounhParticipantto reply to mwardia…No. Gay didn’t deserve it, but the question was how much would this player get in the FA, not how much he deserves. I’m just assessing relative to all the contract signings so far in this year’s FA and most of them have been overpaid. But I guess there are also other factors that may come into play like his height, position, history of injuries, attitude problems, minutes etc.
Those stats just kind of sound like Scottie Pippen’s numbers in the early 90’s when he was with the Bulls and I would’ve given Pippen a max contract at the time.

mwardiaParticipantwell, pippen is a hall of fame player, was he arguably the 2nd best player in the nba next to MJ??
