Rose would have still been on his rookie contract so they would have still been able to sign all Bosh and LeBron. They gave away Michael Beasley because he wasn’t in the long term plans and that freed up more room for them to sign the big 3 as well as Mike Miller.

    They could’ve gotten both and had Rose for 2 years. His Rookie contract wouldn’t be much and they could’ve easily kept him and the big 3, but by this year they’d have to have gotten rid of somebody cause rose would need a max contract.

Ran across this article by Bill Simmons in 08.http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/080310 Thought it was very interesting and I actually remember reading it in 08. So now after reading that, what are some of your what if’s of the last decade of basketball. One of mine is if Miami got the #1 pick in 2008 and picked D Rose. Would Lebron ever have came? Bosh?

What if Mo Williams was never traded to the Clippers? Clips sent back Baron Davis, and a 1st rounder, which ended up being Kyrie Irving. Clips probably wouldn’t have traded for Chris Paul, so their lineup would be Irving, Gordon, Aminu, Blake, DJ. Is this better than their current line up? Where would CP3 have gone if LA was not a viable option?

  That has to be one of the worst moves/non-moves ever. Especially since the Cavs gave up Hickson for basically nothing (Omri Caspi) about a year later. That one’s still got me shaking my head.

You have to remember the pick the Clips traded was originally the 8th. if the Clips never did that deal they probably wouldn’t have gotten the #1.

I don’t think the Heat would have picked Rose with the number one pick. If I’m remembering correctly, Beasley was basically the consensus number one pick for almost every team except the Bulls. But, if I’m somehow remembering this totally wrong, feel free to neg me.

What if Tyson Chandler passed his physical and actually played for the Thunder when the trade went through. Lineup of Westbrook, Sefolosha, Durant, Jeff Green, Chandler. (Before Harden and Ibaka where drafted) It was a flat out steal for the Thunder then basically gave up Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith for Chandler.
