I thought this team would be much better then they have been. They aren't that great at scoring and not that good at rebounding either. Who ever thought they would have the same record as Colorado!!! At the rate they are going they will more than likely be a bubble team. This does not bode well for Dunn in the draft( he will still eb drafted but would be a higher pick if he had this team playing better)
Maybe because the only person that can score one on one is Dunn. Walton is garbage, Acy is athletic and thats about it, anthony jones is just tall, perry jones is working on his perimeter game but it isn't good enough to actually get him many points and his post game sucks.
Baylor puzzles me too. They have all the athleticism in the world but their execution is poor at best. The only time they seem to be able to score is when their zone creates turnovers and leads to a fastbreak opportunity.
I still like Baylor a lot, but they are playing mediocre ball right now.
That should go to show people that just because you have a team of good athletes that doesn't mean you will be very successful. Skill matters much more
Every school has talent whether its skill wise or athleticism. Hwat it really come sdown to is can a team bu tinto coaching. Coach cal has talent every year but its a matte rof getting guys to buy into your program. He does an excellent job with his 1 and done players but we all know it would just be better if his players would stay and play for him
They are athletic, but they don't use it to their advantage, ideally with athletes you want them to get out and run for they excel in transition where they can use their speed and athleticism to their advantage especially against more skilled teams. They have some good players ( Dunn, Jones, Acy and Perry) but as of late they just have not been playing well, I still expect them to make the tournament
With Coah Cal you dont see the results till 3 years later. every recruit he gets doesn't end up being one a done( last year was a exception) so the ones that stay end up becoming vets once the next set of one and dones come in and it ends up evening out like the year He went to the title game with D. Rose. When they do get out and run, they don't have the right spacing and or they dont have a guy who will get it to one of the players int he right spot. Dunn can create for himself but not so much for other players and the other players struggle just to creat for there selfs
Baylor plays too much 1 on 1 ball, instead of team ball...They have no chemistry at all...They have trouble creating plays...
They really miss Tweety Carter,he's gone so there's nothing they can do about that now....But they're a very athletic slashing and driving team, and those type of teams need outside shooters ..Former Cal guard Gary Franklin will be transfering there and will be eligible to play next January....Franklin started Cal first 13 games in the 2010-2011 season before asking for a transfer....Coach Drew is raving about his playmaking skills...
Don't forget they lost the Big 12 shot blocking leader in Epke Udoh and although kind of a stiff, Josh Lomers was a freaking giant lane clogger at 7' 275 lbs. Those two guys in the lane were a lot more intimidating than the crew they have now. Anthony Jones is 195 lbs and Perry is 220 lbs, Acy is the only guy who can bang and hold his own on the block defensively and he's just 6'7''. Baylor's lack of post defense is blairingly obvious everytime they play a school with good offensive bigs.
Who knows how to feed the post. The guards take horrible shots and are very impatient. When the ball is kicked backed out it is shot with haste. They should look into the post again on the reset. SG and no PG is hurting their team. Perry needs to get in the other guys face and say feed the f@cking post.
