    B-Dawk announced his retirement today.

I don’t care where he ended his career, Weapon-X will forever be an Eagle.  My favorite player of all time and the greatest Safety to ever wear an Eagles uniform!

Not an Eagle fan, but I have tremendous respect for the guy. He played the game the right way, and he was a role model on and off the field. HOF.

Dawkins was a monster.  I remember watching video of him pre-game firing his defense up, gave me chills.

Him and Sean Taylor together forced so many fumbles on my madden squad…

Brian Dawkins will go down as one of my all time favorite players. He was an absolute monster at safety and one of the greatest leaders/people in the history of the NFL. I couldn’t respect him more. The post above reminds me how disappointing it is to remember Sean Taylor is gone. He was my favorite player at the time and had a chance to be a HoF.

The intro to this video, when he’s giving the speech, still gives me goosebumps.

A year ago at this time the Dallas Mavericks were preparing to defend their first-ever NBA championship, but with only a handful of the players who won that championship still on the team. Rather than jeopardize their 2012 free agency cap space the Mavericks chose to sign cheaper players to one-year deals and shoot for the stars the following summer. Mavericks fans forgave their team’s management because they could already envision the posters and banners featuring the new big three. Would it be “3D in Big D,” with Dirk Nowitzki, Deron Williams and Dwight Howard all in Mavericks blue?
