for me it would be so difficult to pick from him and Noel ( and don’t get me wrong i love Nerlens i knew he won’t score like AD i like his passes and handles and his defense is something pretty phenomenal) it’s just that’s how i feel Isaiah is so underrated in all those mocks..for me he is top5 LOCK and no of those contenders for a top prize..

i mean 7’1 wingspan something like 7’6-7’7 runs the floor control body very very well, some says he is perimeter orentied but he is just too good of a shooter and handler at his size not to be there and he still gets put backs and i beleive people underrates his post moves at least he has jump hooks from BOTH hands (and that’s has to be pretty enough) and he surprises me with his great rebounding and he finally FINALLY shows he can block like in HS with 5blocks tonight actually 6 because this one had to count http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvT-dNJwYRQ

he plays so well since last loss in last 3gms he avg 18.3ppg 12.3 3apg 2bpg..

he reminds me more of young Pau Gasol from Barcelona days than Bargnani..
Pau also was skinny but could run handle and many thought he was face up PF or even huge SF like now some think about Isaiah, but Pau had nice touch and footwork plus and developed it into one of the best moves in the NBA..and he gained some mass to play even center, and i believe Isaiah body isn’t that bad like some thinks at least a believe he will get into Camby range..he is 220 and has pretty wide shoulder, maybe not Howard or even Davis type of but still pretty good to get much bigger…look he is pretty wide out there http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/photos/_/id/61568/photoId/2612990/isaiah-austin

so i believe all the talent is there and by the end of the year he will outplay his weaknesses..

I wouldn’t take him anywhere less than the late teens. He’s painfully skinny. You say he has wide shoulders, yet you post a pic where it looks like he doesn’t. He looks like he has a sunken chest and hump in his back. Dude has the body type of a banana. No but seriously, he’s obviously skilled, but I just see him getting tossed around and not being able to establish position at the next level. Not only is he skinny, but he plays soft, does NOT have a good frame, has a very high center of gravity (which allows opponents to get leverage on him) and he’s got toothpick legs. He can get away with outreaching everyone at the college level, but that won’t fly in the NBA where he’ll get pushed out of position. I think he’ll be a stretch big at the next level, which is still worthy of a 1st round pick, but I personally would not take him lotto.

    A New Shitty Mock

lol at body of a banana. He doesn’t have a good frame at all, and his shoulders are indeed narrow.
I think his stock is on the rise though, but considering Noel is a lock at top 3 and #1 in my book, its safe to assume Noel>>>>> Austin.
    .
He’s sort of a boom or bust pick. He’s not top 10 right now, more like 10-18

He reminds me a lot of Channing Frye, and not rookie Channing Frye who still played around the rim. Pheonix Channing Frye. I think he is a specialist at the next level, a guy who can have a career stretching the defense and finishing pick and pops, but I think he is a late teens/early 20’s pick in 2013.

He’s an intriguing prospect because of his height and ball handling, but there’s no doubt that his frame will not hold the muscle needed to be a NBA bigman. I remember when he played against Drummond in High School and got absolutely brutalized and not much has changed since then. Baylor is lucky to have him, but there’s no way he can guard the likes of Alex Len, Cauley-Stein, or the other big bodies in colllege hoops right now.

His lack of bulk would make him questionable as an NBA C, but he seems to have a good skillset and mobility for his size so I wonder if he could maybe play as an NBA PF using his length to help defend the perimeter as well as helping out in the paint.

Nerlens Noel had lack of bulk issues but has added 30lbs or so in the last couple of years, Austin could well remain in college for another year to try to add bulk or a lot could depend on what he comes out at during the NBA combines.

I would see him as a late lottery to mid to late first round guy but it only takes one GM to like you.
