Which player other than BLAKE GRiFFIN would you build your team around?
Yea dats true but when you draft on potential you end up with kwame brown
I will take Ricky Rubio because he feels the game like nobody else, he is still young and he will make any of his teammates better.
hill or mullens. i think franchises should have bigs as foundations. they may not be stars someday, but i don't think you'd go wrong with building a team starting with a big man with both offensive and defensive skillsets. thabeet would be okay, but you've to surround him with second-tier offensive talent.
I would say there are only a few players, outside of Griffin, who even really have much of a shot at being franchise-defining talents.
In order, I would rank them, based on potential:
1. Jordan Hill
2. DeMar DeRozan
3. Brandon Jennings
4. Hasheem Thabeet
5. Ricky Rubio
6. Wayne Ellington
7. Jonny Flynn
8. B.J. Mullens
9. Tyreke Evans
10. James Harden
In saying that, understand that I think there's a good chance Jennings and DeRozan might end up as busts, while I'm very confident Harden will be a solid starter in the league.
Adi_Joseph how in the world do u put b.j mullens on any list of potential franchise players.. wow! and then u follow it up with the possiblity of Jennings and DeRozan being bust and still not mention mullens. one thing i know for sure in this upcoming draft is that which ever team that selects b.j mullens and i'll tell u now that it is going to be a team that is not a good franchise (minn.18/28 mem.27 sac.23) and he will be a BUST.
I think it's best to build around a dominant center or outstanding point guard. Rubio is highest on my list. He's one of few with a chance to be a special player. I think shooting is the easiest skill to build. With work, in time his shooting will get better.
Contrary to my last statement, very high on my list is Curry. His shooting skill is a special talent, and shooters are always needed in this sport regardless of the level. I'm not saying he would be the 2nd best build around player, but he would be very high on my list. Likely higher than most would have him.
Do you think Curry will be able to creat his own shot? If so, playing point, he will be in a good position to score with ball in his hands. Harden probably can create his own better than Curry can.
Dominating big men win championships. John Bryant has everything you look for in a center. His exciting style of play will sell tickets and his rugged good looks will sell jerseys.
I only hope he can rise above his character issues, but with the kind of endorsment money he will get from shoe and bubblegum companies, I think he can abstain from molesting little boys.

Ill take James Harden...
He can get to the rack anytime he needs to with great touch around the rim can get it done with either hand, his handles is nice he'll hit chu then pull up from deep and he has the ability to D up yo best player every nite
