I'm interested to know who everyone thinks will be the best pro out of this years draft. I don't care how crazy it sounds, I want to know your prediction. If you think it's going to be John Wall, then great. If you think it's going to be Luke Babbitt then fine, remember though in the last 20 years the guy who would now be voted as best player was only the #1 pick 6 times. Whoever you think it will be, just state your prediction, and make your case.
I think it's going to be Wesley Johnson. I think he's a leader and a team first guy. I think if he gets put with a really good point guard he can easily be a perennial 22 pt, 7 rb, 2 stl, 1 block a game guy who will be a great defender, efficient scorer, and leader for a very good team. I think when it's all said and done he'll have a career as good as Ray Allen, which is more than I think anyone else will do in this draft.
Now, who do you think will be the best?
Demarcus Cousins, easily if he reaches potential he could a 20-10 guy for his career.
i wasn't on the wagon at first but i think if favors goes to the right team under the right system and stays at the power forward position he could be very very good some day.
but im going to go with evan turner. i know his combine results werent great but im going with productivity over potential here. if you look at the last group of drafts he sort of reminds me of rookies of the year brandon roy and tyreke evans because hes sort of a big combo guard that may lack superstar athleticism but still has a great work ethic and undeniable handles for his position. plus the teams that want him have big plans for him. especially if he goes to philly or minnesota...or even nj. because of the way he plays many think that he is coming into the draft a little late but hes still very young and has about 8 to 10 years to develop. i think hes got a bright future and will come in and make an immediate impact
Does this question get asked at least once a day? lol
But in all honesty, I think it is going to be either Cousins or Turner. Wall is not a slouch by any means, ANY MEANS, but I just think a dominant big man or a great player with the versatility of a guy like Turner could possibly end up being more valuable. This league is loaded with great PGs, so the value of a great big man or guy who can play 1, 2, & 3 will be enhanced. John Wall will be a great player and very well may be the best of the class, but my gut says either Turner or Cousins.
I think Cousins could if he put in the work and tried harder in the games but the more likely option is Wall. Wall has the speed and control at the same time that makes Derrick Rose so good, also if you compare Wall's and Rose's jump shots their freshmen years in college i think Wall's is better.
I'll put my money on Wall. He has that star-power that I don't see from anyone else, and he has it RIGHT NOW
It's either gonna be John Wall, Evan Turner, or Greg Monroe.
I think Wall will be the best though. I feel that he's currently the 2nd best player in this draft. And even as the 2nd best player in this draft, he still has a good deal of work to do with his overall game that shows you just how good he can potentially be. Usually when a guy is fairly raw like Wall is, they aren't the one of the very best players in their draft class. The fact that Wall is as good as he is currently, despite not being close to a finished product makes him the best prospect in this class. I think he'll be the best at the end of the day.
Who's the best in your opinion...You had Wall second...I agree at the end of the day Wall has the most potential but right now you agree he's not the best player today...I have Turner,Cousins,Patterson,Monroe all ahead of Wall right now...meaning value for a team in game come start of the 2010/2011 season...I thinks their will be guys that will have much better season than Wall after the top 5...Wall just has so much on his plate in Washington and with this draft...But his potential and hype(not bad things to have on draft day) make him a story to watch all season...What if Wall has a J.Flynn season and doesn't really set the world on fire...while Cousin and Patterson are contributing now, looking like studs....what if Bledsoe goes to team like Miami and gets to Run with Wade and Co. and gets big time back up point guard minutes in the playoffs while Wall and the Wiz watch at home....
Hassan Whiteside if he goes to the Jazz or the Rockets.
No scarecrow, I was saying Wall is the 2nd best PLAYER right now. But he's the best PROSPECT in the long run IMO.
?/////?ET or Cuzo....
I think the best 3 players will be Turner, Monroe and Wall. In that order. Wall will be more exciting, but I think Turner and Monroe will be really really good players. I think Turner just has the "it" to his game...not sure what it is...but he's got it. His mid range game is good, he's got good form on his jump shot, he's big, strong, pretty crafty, he's a good passer, has the potential to be a really good defender as well. I think he will be a 20-22 ppg, 5-7 rpg, and 4-6 apg.
Greg Monroe reminds me of Pau Gasol. Great footwork in the post, good moves, great passer, has a good mid range jump shot, basketball IQ is fantastic for a 20 year old, he's long, a good rebounder, and he runs the floor like a deer. He's not an athletic freak, but how many great post players are freak athletes?
Another guy who I think has the potential to be a dark horse in this draft is Terrico White. Alot of people had him going top 10 before the season began and when he played with the Team USA 19u team (i think), everybody said he was the most impressive guy there. He didnt have a great sophmore season, but theres alot of factors that may have had something to do with that...Ole Miss just seemed disfunctional, and Chris Warren was a chucker at PG. I think Terrico White could be a really good player in the league. He's gonna be a big time steal I think, and has the ability to be a top 5 player out of this draft class.
Evan Turner is the best player right now. He's better than every prospect in this draft currently, and he was during the season too
John Wall and Derrick Favors have the most potential in the draft. I think Favors will be the best...he is the youngest player in the draft and has the same exact vertical and players like Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudamire did at the combine. His offensive skills are solid right now but will become a lot better as he gets older and he is already a great shot blocker and rebounder. Him and Wall will be all stars....
I usually go with the underdog, but it's hard to pick against Wall. I think he'll be hard pressed to get ROY honors, but he's got everything in place for a good NBA career. He's young, he's going to a system with a legitimate shot of putting solid players around him, he's already a very skilled passer and defender, and an amazing clutch scorer, and he's a physical FREAK. I mean, honestly, did ANYONE do better than him in the athleticism tests and measurements? My guess is a career 18 ppg, 5 rpg, 7.5 apg, 1.5 spg average.
But if anyone is going to challenge him, my guesses would be:
Wesley Johnson- He's very well-rounded, and his game translated well in the NBA. But he plays a lot like Shawn Marion. Even if he compensates for being a 23 year old rookie, his game has to stand the test of time.
Possible career- 15 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3 apg, 2.5 block plus steals.
Evan Turner-I don't see how so many questions can be made of a prospect so complete. He's a point-forward type with great scoring. Sure, his long range shot isn't tops, but...neither is Tyrekes. Or LeBrons. Or especially Dwyane Wade's. The only questions I can see are: Is he a quality NBA defender, and: will he try to do too much and become like Andre Iguodala or could he become like Brandon Roy?
Possible career-20 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 4.5 apg, 1.5 blocks plus steals.
Ekpe Udoh-As many blemishes as he has in his game, he has underrated talents. His mid-range jumper and even long range jumper are above average. He demonstrated pretty good post passing and decent IQ in his tournament games when his teammates were underperforming, too. And "The Nightmare" has stellar defense. I doubt he'll be really successful in the NBA, but he's got the talent and leadership. The cards are on the table....
Possible career-13 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 2.5 apg, 3 bpg
Anybody who's on the Warriors because that's the place where you have an amazing stat line
