maravich44ParticipantI think Dar Tucker is a talented player and may surprise in the pros, but think he should have stayed at DePaul for another season. They had a disasterous year, and will have another one next season, but he could have used additional collegiate experience to ready his game for pro ball.
Calathes will be a nice NBA player. I’d love to see the Bulls take him at 26 if there isn’t a player on the board that could help in their rotation.
How can Gatorheels have -1 point for asking some good Questions?????????? These point totals are at times ridiculous.

butidonthavemoneyYou can give or take away as many points as you want from anybody. I had around 200 points taken away a while back on one post. I already have a -1 for my answer.
Nobody except DRAfT N0OBZ cares about points anyway.
I agree that Tucker has talent but I don’t think he will be drafted.

12. Which team will do the best on draft night? probably the blazers cause they will likely move their picks and get something a little more stable in return
13. Which team will do the worst on draft night? Probably the Suns- because I’m a suns fan.
14. What player slips very late into the 2nd round that wasn’t projected to? Cathaletes or Sam Young
15. Which sneaks into the 1st round that is a total shock? Darren Collison to the Lakers or the Cavs (though that really wouldn’t be a shock).0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/17/2009 - 2:02pm #166833
piratejpParticipantLOL – one vote as best draft, one vote as worst. I’m a Kings fan and hoping for the former, although I wouldn’t bet on it, but not really expecting the latter either. Petrie is a great talent evaluator, but is not a great strategist & this draft seems ripe to be manipulated. There will likely be opportunities to grab 2-4 solid prospects after the 4th pick and possibly add some cash and/or future picks to boot. But they probably won’t, they’ll just sit right where they are and take the top guy on their board (and don’t care what anyone else thinks about the pick). In the end the Kings draft will probably depend entirely on how those 3 guys pan out and not for any manuevers made to maximize their picks. Some team(s) will though, and that is the team(s) who has the best draft.
1. Adrien (but its close)
2. Apples & Oranges – Pendegraph if you’re looking for height, Carroll if you’re looking for a slightly undersized scrapper.
3. Cunningham
4. Claver (I hope the Kings get him)
5. Calathes
6. Summers, although Young will be picked before him (possibly well before him)
7. Nevill8. yes
9. no
10. no
11. yes12. New York or possibly Detroit (they could also have one of the worse depending on what direction they go)
13. Out of everyone – Orlando. Out of those with picks – Chicago if they take Mullens, if not Golden State (I just have a hunch they’re going to find a way to mess this up) or Toronto (they need to trade back, grab Clark & forget about DeRozan – if they don’t, it likely won’t end well for them).
14. Agree with Summers – lack of sizzle means someone gets a steal long after the “high-ceiling” guys are gone. There are going to be some PGs slipping too.
15. Agree again with Kravtsov. De Colo or Beaubouis also possibilities, but less shocking.Good one Gator.

gatorheelsParticipantThanks for all the responses
Here are my answers to my own questions. Ha
1. Adrien- huge wingspan, very tough player, Brockman is just too short with short arms
2. Carroll- run the floor better than Pendergraph, very versatile
3. Lyons- He is extremely crafty under the basket, has a ton of nifty moves
4. Claver- he was impressive before the injury not sure how he is now, can really jump & shoot
5. Calathes- I think Lllull will be solid but Calathes is a top 5 PG in this draft in my opinion
6. Brown- tall, huge wingspan, takes good shots, smart
7. Norel- has the most upside plus he can shoot

bonishswhsParticipant1. Adrien…real tough guy down low with big wingspan and seems more athletic
2. Pendergraph…he’s more of a traditional big man, while carroll is kind of a hybrid forward, so it really just depends what you’re lookin for, but i’d go with Pendergraph
3. Cunningham…havent seen a lot of lyons, but cunningham really impressed me this past year and has a really good midrange J
4. Claver…has the most potential out of those 3 imo. 6’10 guy that can really shoot and mightve been a first rounder if not for injury
5. Calathes…i think he could be the steal of the draft. 6’6 or so (maybe 6’5) but great vision and solid shooter
6. Derrick Brown…close between him and Summers, but at almost 6’9 with a really long wingspan (ideal size for a 3) and shot 43% from 3 this year…lots of potential
7. Norel…really thin, but legit 7 footer with a nice shot8. no
9. no

11. yes, late 2nd12. Thunder. They’ll add a real solid guy at 3 that can help (Rubio, Curry, Harden, Thabeet, Hill) and then another solid player at 25.
13. Milwaukee. Especially if they take Holiday because he just isn’t worth a pick that high and there will be much better players available
14. Patrick Mills i think could slip to around 40 or so, which isnt a huge fall, but he should be picked higher imo.
15. Jermaine Taylor (29 or 30, maybe to the Lakers)And Gatorheels, I just can’t see Meeks gettin into the 1st round because he’s not really an all-around player (all he can do is shoot…too 1 dimensional), but i agree with a lot of the other stuff you wrote.

1. Jon Brockman ~ toss up
2. Jeff Pendergraph ~ better offensive skills
3. Dante Cunningham ~ team guy
4. Casspi ~ like that he’s not soft
5. Calathes ~ especially if you just wanna put him away for a year
6. Derrick Brown or Summers or Sam Young ~ that’s impossible. I definitely think that eventually all 3 will be rotation players. If I had to, I’d go with Brown cuz he can play all over the court.
