Whos most likely to be a bust out of this draft?
i completely disagree with henderson as a potential bust. first of all, i'm not sure henderson will be a lottery pick to begin with. 2nd, he has no "bust" attributes. he will produce. the numbers may not be spectacular but he will put numbers in every column as well as play good defense.
I look more towards brandon jennings as a potential bust, but only because i don't see any busts in the lottery. outside of griffin, no one is really expected to change a team. it's a flat out weak draft.
I honestly believe Stephon Curry. Here's why:
What is his postion?
If point guard can run a NBA Team?
If shooting guard he will he guard?
His defense is suspect.
I see him being a better version of Damon Jones
I see curry turning into a jameer nelson... Jameer first couple years wereok but the talk was he wasn't playing up to potential. this year he finally had a breakout year.. It will take Stephan time there isn't to many instant success at point guard if you are actually winning game also..
I think curry we will be a good pro. Im not saying perrenial all star or anything, but i think he can be a great scorer off the bench or as a combo guard. I've never seen a play teams pay so much attention to guarding in college, in the NBA he will only have 1 guy on him and I think he will do well. Ive expressed numerous times on these forums, I dont think Mullens is any good, and I think Demar Derozan is a little overhyped, although I do see huge potential in him so there is a possibility im majorly wrong about him, but Mullens if ive ever had a feeling about a bust, its him. Another guy I think is way too billed up is Chase Budinger. Does anybody else noticed that he hasnt gotten any better in 3 years? Im just bien real, if he was so good, Arizona would at least be a lock to make the tourney, they had 3 lottery type players last year in Bayless, Budinger and Jordan Hill and Hill is still there playin like a beast. One last thing, I think Thabeet will be good and usefull, but I dont see him bieng any better than Dikembe, not sure if thats worth the 2nd pick over Harden, who seems like a lock to be a Brandon Roy type.
Gerald Henderson is an athlete period,he has a nice mid range jump shot and can jump out of tha gym,but he relies 2 much on athletic ability and i have yet to see him consistently put the ball on the floor an create his own shot. Im not expecting ANYTHING from Tyler Hansbrough who has no skills and limited athletic ability, if you ask me he is Mark Madsen 2.0. In my opinion he's not worth wasting a draft pick on. He is the Tim Tebow of college basketball. Hasheem Thabeet wil not be a bust because even if he never gains any offensive skills he can be a game changing force on the defensive end. And if paired with an offensive threat at power forward thats one hell of a front line 2 build your franchise around.
your exactly right. Hansbrough is sooo much better than Mark Madsen. Unskilled? have you ever watched him play? He is perfect midrange, from one step within the 3 he is deadly, and that is very recent so I expect him to continue to expand. He isn't really that limited athletically in my opinion at all, he has good strength, is decent in the open floor, and has good vertical. I think people assume he is unathletic because he is white and plays hard, which most people assume is a sign of overcompensation rather than bieng a good player. He isn't Josh smith, but he most certainly is not Mark Madsen either. He reminds me alot of Udonis Haslem, a guy who will make his shots, play tough D and be in the right place. I dont think he can possibly be a bust, he wouldn't allow it of himself.
I think you guys are going to hard on the guy. Yes, because of his highlight reel plays in high school he was extremely hyped and as we all know being just ultra athletic doesn't make you good. But the guy has produced quite a bit lately and the guy is averaging 13 ppg on a team with some othe veteran scorers. Also, he was just extremely passive, now he is getting the hang of things and starting to consistently put up upper teens in points. He does need to improve in a lot of areas still but I think if he stays for his sophomore year he will have a chance to be a great talent in the NBA.
heez got his mind on his money, he is gone. I think if he stayed he could be great too, but he seems liek the type that will go before he has a skillset to do real damage, and then to stay in the league because his skills are so far behind, he will focus on using his athletic gifts to rebound and get on sportscenter more than develop fundamentally. But what do I know, i could just see him gettin buried on a depth chart is all. Joran Hill is a little overrated if you ask me, but i understand weak draft, who do you take? Eric Maynor too, there is no way he is better than Ty Lawson. Lawson is a not that poor mans Raymond Felton, who makes less mistake and is automatic from 3 when left alone.
BJ Mullens and Derozan both are bust type players. They already seem like bust on the college level so going pro seems risky for them, they need to stick around longer in the college ranks. Not a big Henderson guy think he is bust worthy, but he could prove me wrong he has improved some. Jordan Hill could really be a big time bust just don't see the big deal about him, I've seen it in spurts but not all the time.
He's a lightweight 170 lbs that wont hold up in the pros, he has off the court problems, he's too cocky and he's averaging only 8ppg against italian league opponents, im not saying hes going to be awful, im saying he wont live up to expectations of top 5 pick
I just dont see what makes him a top 5 pick. A top 5 pick is supposed to be a potential franchise player, and theres just no effin way this kid is a nba franchise player. That team has been loaded with nba talent since he got there and is on the bubble every year.
I am a buckeye fan but i have to agree that mullens will likely be a bust, he could be coached into a good player. He is tough and you cant teach that, but other than that it has to be Budinger, i agree that he has not gotten any better.
Derozan wont be a bust, he played in an offense that limited him. I know many people said the exact same thing about OJ Mayo last year, and i think his numbers speak for it self. USC offense is a slow offense. Another player i think wont live up to the hype is AL Farooq Aminou, i just dont think he is nba level talent.
I think this question is a tuff one because there is alot in this question that people dont look at obviously if there not in lottery dont put them on the list which has been talked about but this is a week draft this year and players that are takin in the lottery cant have the same expectations put on them this year as in years past because if say these guys got drafted a few years ago they would have been out of lottery at least most would have been so you cant say a top five pick has to be a franchise player because i dont think there are five franchise players in this draft so the tipical thinking for a draft canot be applied

I think it will be Gerald Henderson...btw im talking about lotto picks.
