Why have Lebrons FTA dipped so much this year?

It seems as if he plays the same as he always has, and yes he got a lot of bogus calls in the past, but it seems now that refs are swallowing the whistle a lot more for him now.

His FTA's are down by almost 2 from last year and he's 8th in the league in FTA per game.

Is there an explanation for the sudden dip in free throws?

2 free throw attempts is the equivalent of one foul. Its entirely possible to assume that lebron is getting fouled one less time a game....
