No point now, Arenas and RWallace were only alternatives if they didn’t get a big or PG after the TD.  They ended up getting both.

The Lakers, correct me if I’m wrong, are at 14 on their roster. Do they try to sign Arenas for some scoring off the pine?

They wanted him, they would have signed him earlier in the season. So the answer is no, and they don’t need him now that Sessions is running the point.

They still need help off the bench though and Arenas could provide a nice spark if his knees are okay.  But I still think it’s doubtful that the Lakers sign him since they have Sessions and Blake off the bench.

Would you look to sign one more guy?

Sessions is a huge upgrade over Fisher and it’s always nice to have another big, but does this really make the Lakers THAT much better? Their bench is still weak, Kobe doesn’t have a backup and the small forward position still needs an upgrade.

IF Arenas is healthy, I think they could use his scoring off of the bench at the two spot.

If only the Lakers would have been able to acquire Beasley as well, that would have really improved them.  They get a good scoring punch off the bench with Barnes, Beasley, Hill and Murphy

Kobe has Eyenga to back him up now, I know it isn’t the ideal situation, but he’s super athletic and defends well off the bench, plus he has potential with that ridiculous athleticism.

Lakers are a lot better in my opinion, Kobe can play off the ball more, Bynum and Gasol get a very athletic pair of backups in McRoberts and Hill, and the Lakers’ age and lack of athleticism has been reduced somewhat.

I don’t see them signing Arenas any time soon.

Yeah I think they might hold off using that trade exception they got for Odom.I also read that they might use that come draft night, being that will one of the few tools they have to usejust in case they wanna trade for someone then or sign someone they who might get released.

I actually think people are severly sleeping on Eyenga. He’s going to IMO, be able to sneek some PT in with his D and athleticism. Shannon Brown wasn’t expected to make much impact either, but during the first LAL title run, he was actually a big part of it by nearly locking Billups down and hitting some big shots. He and Trevor actually also brought a lot of energy from the bench with their ability to create turnovers and get out on the break and finish. Not to mention, their could be someone surprising bought out who could potentially fill in nicel. And while Artest has lost all of his offense, his defense has finally began to come back to a nearly elite level.

Eyenga is gonna be a fan favorite due to his dunking ability and energy on both ends. He’s not that skilled, but he’s a decent shooter who will make high-flying finishes and play pesky D.

Which IMO, i8s all you can ask for playing bgeing or even beside of Bryant. I like his chances. At the very least he’s athletic clay that can potentially be molded offensively by Bryant and defensively by Kobe and Ron together. Hill wwill be a nice piece as well. The Lakers are known to be pretty good at developing their young bigs. Jordan is still young and could ultimately be a steal himself. The savings alone was worth it. Amnesty Artest in the offseason and  they could potentially trade Pau for a large trade X and afford a younger all-star type player. B= for LAL IMO.

Lakers did well but I don’t think they have enough to get over the hump and into the Finals.

Goudelock should get more playing time with Bryant at the 3 sometimes. Goudelock can fill the "Arenas" role. Sessions and Blake are enough as far as PGs go.

Last word on Arenas was that he was working out for the grizzlies. No real need for him now with the lakers.

Yeah, I have also heard that Memphis is close to signing him. It would be an interesting fit. It gives Memphis a backup PG (Selby isn’t really ready for minutes yet) and also another guy that can hit 3’s. Will be interesting to see how he fits in with the Grizzlies team, if they sign him.

Haven’t the Grizzlies been down this road before with an over-the-hill undersized scorer with a big personality by the name of Allen Iverson?

or Chris Paul to save their team at this point.

Theres no need for an Arenas signing now. The Lakers just did themselves a favor by getting a little younger, adding more talent, and like someone posted above, got rid of 2 players that were basically retired. As for Eyenga, I dont see him getting any real game time, if any at all. He only played in 8 games for the Cavs this year and spent a lot of time in the DLeague. He did get some decent playing time for a stint last year, but Im pretty sure that game during the Cavs 26 game losing streak.
