what is memphis thinking, they give up Thabeet and a 1st for Battier and don't trade Mayo? Now they have Henry/Gay/Allen/Mayo/Battier/Young, what was the point of this trade if they can't even play all the wings they already had.
Damn Kentucky, always trying to take things from the Tennessee folk. Screw you Kentucky, you can keep John Calipari!
we will keep coach cal and the top recruiting classes he brings every year. Champs in 2012!
Almost traded Mayo but unfortunately deal did not get finalized. Among other teams Pacers and Bulls were interested so they will probably trade Mayo at draft. Gay is hurt and I believe he is out for season so Grizzlies need to stock up on Forwards to help them not loose position in tough west and still make playoffs.
I expect Mayo be traded by the draft so the Grizzlies will be left with Battier, Gay, Henry, Young, and Allen.
Is Rudy seriously out for the season? I thought he was only out for a couple of weeks.
They do not know the extent of Rudy's injury, and he is questionable to return. It explains the Battier trade, though I am surprised that is all they got for the second pick in the 2009 Draft. Than again, that pick was Hasheem Thabeet. I remember when I was doing a Mock Draft for that, before underclassmen were announced and I had Greg Monroe going 2nd. That would have been a WAY better pick, but alas, Greg Monroe returned to college and that draft was full of PG's beyond Blake Griffin, and they still wanted to keep the back court of Conley and Mayo alive. Pretty crowded at the wing right now though in Memphis. Like their chances of making the play-offs, but I am sure they will not get very far until they sort out the fact that they have WAY to many wing players.
Says on espn hes out for a month.
