Winter Park vs Saint Patricks on ESPN2
Winter park has been pretty much getting smoked even though they are making a comeback(thanks to a mix of 3s and aloooot of the refs letting them get away with fouls and bumps on st patrick players)
its now 49-36 with about 3 minutes left in the third
Watch out for 6-10 freshman Dekari Johnson in the future
a couple of things:
1) jay williams is really bad, he said hes done 5 games in 5 days so i'll give him a break but he sounds retarded
2) austin rivers tries to do too much at times and doesn't really trust his teammates
3) St. Patrick's is very in sync and Gilchrist lets the game come to him
4) Derrick Gordon, #32 for St. Patricks, is a very talented Western Kentucky commit
Any question why rivers is the number one player in America? Who's the last highschooler who dominated with pure skill like that. Not being the biggest strongest fastest ( although he is fast) He blows by guards with ease. Finshes. And shoots over bigger players. Handles is tight and good court vision
How can this statement be true......"Austin River & Doc Rivers will be the first father-son players to be in the Mickey D's Game in 34 years".........Now if I stand correct Dajaun Wagner & Milt Wagner both played in the Mickey D's Game, Dajaun 01' Milt 84' last time I checked Milt was Dajuan's father.
I'm so tired of analyst giving false information on air, when they are "suppose" to know their stuff and make sure it's accurate before telling us false information.
Lmfao Austin's teammates are a bunch of scrubs no wonder he doesn't trust them. I think there's like only one black dude besides Austin's half-black genes. Not saying white players aren't good just saying their athleticism doesn't compare to african americans and considering the fact that St. Patricks was stacked with an all black squad the Winter Park players were rendered simply useless.
Lets not play the race card here... It has a lot to with size..... Winter Park's tallest guy that actually plays solid minutes is 6'6 200 pd. Billy Dee Williams, whereas Gilchrist is 6'8 220 and he is Saint Patrick's small foward. Besides Rivers, it was evident that St. Patrick's clearly has more size, talent, depth, athleticism and virtually everything else...
alright back to basketball...you guys sometimes go overboard BTW but i still love you :)
anyways, Rivers teammates sucked but he gave off the vibe that he had no interest in putting the ball in any of their hands which showed to me that his leadership abilities need some work
big question though guys: Who starts at the 1 if kyrie irving comes back? What happens to dawkins and curry?
thats the same thing i see I am your Father. Even without irving i thinkThornton and Cook get all/most of the time at the 1. If Irving does come back things wont look good for his playing time at all.
Even the year after it might be Shebazz Muhammed at the 2/3 or maybe Alex Murphy at the 3/4 or they might both come to Duke and once again he could be left out.
I have seen Rivers play a number of times and I am not impressed with his attitude, He jogs back on defense and his shot selection is very poor. Now I know he doesnt have the talent around him that he will at duke, but i see no leadership abilities with these lesser players, and I wouldnt be supprised if dawkins and curry give him a fight for playing time, as they will both be 2-3 years older and know Dukes system and have the extra strength and maturity.
are u serious? haha wow austin doesnt trust his teammates? he tries to do to much? Look at his team! they suck! austin rivers is that team. and i wouldnt trust my teammates either if most the time i passed them the ball they ddidnt score or turn the ball over. Also it seemed to me like they were hating a little bit. In crunch time of the game or when u know u need a basket why would u not give him the ball? why would you drive to the hole just to get your shot slapped into the 13th row? haha ridiculous
His teammates aren't that good compared to there competition that's why they lose to the top teams. That's laughable about him fitting for time at duke. You might wanna check out what he did during the under19 tournament with Irving and other college and older players on his team. He was far and away the best player out there. His attitude toward his lower skilled teammates need work but that was the same case with Kobe,KG sometime and other players when they were in HS playing.
