Wojo
Height for a big man coach is irrelevant. One of the greatest big men coaches of all time was 5'6.
Tony Parker is merely parroting negative recruiting against Duke.
It's more of the perception that Duke doesn't use their bigs, which is only true unless they actually have a good enough big that deserves touches (ie Brand, Boozer, Williams) but since we haven't been getting any elite back to the basket bigs this just feeds the perception more and creates a vicious cycle.
By the way...you post an awful lot about Duke for being a UNC fan...
But yes I agree Duke needs to get a person who actually played forward as their big man coach not because Wojo is a bad big man coach but because they need to change the perception.
Just look at Carolina. What are the heights of your assistant coaches? I'm pretty sure all of your assistant coaches were point guards so that just shows that height doesn't mean anything. UNC just gets more talented big men.
I have stated my feelings on Duke bigs, Wojo, and his failures as a "bigman" coach and i have lost many points in the process so ill just say this Danny Manning (former Kansas assistant and current Tulsa head coach) has been the best bigman coach college basketball has seen in years.
Well, being a UNC fan, it's very important to keep eyes on your enemy. I knew that Wojo was their bigs coach and I wasn't sure if anybody knew inside information on why Duke wasn't getting big men. I just thought guys like Hakeen and Patrick Ewing would be much more suited to coach bigs than a guard, but I'm aware most coaching staffs don't have all-time great big men coaches as a luxury.
I agree with him and McDunkin. A guy can read all he wants, but he lacks that in game experience of being a big man. Wojo has probably done his homework and gained a lot of knowledge about the post game, but he can't talk to players about what it's like backing down a 6'10'' guy on the block at an NCAA or NBA level.
That's the difference between Wojo and a great big man coach like Danny Manning. Wojo can't say "In 1993 when David Robinson switched off and picked me up, I did _________ to get the best of him."
A head coach has to manage everyone and call the shots in game, but an assistant that specializes in big men should have played the position...IMO
"By the way...you post an awful lot about Duke for being a UNC fan..."
lmao, I was gonna write the same thing
He's a closet Duke fan, trolling as a UNC fan.
Recently he admitted that Kyrie Irving is awesome and Christian Laettner had the perfect game.
He can name all of Duke's assisant coaches, while not knowing who the assisants for UNC are.

Coach K is the #1 Coach
Roy Williams #4
Wojo is the #6 Assisant Coach.
Capel #9
Steve Robinson #18...For everyone that doesnt know Robinson, he is an assistant at UNC.
Collins #22
No other UNC assistant coaches in top 100.
Interesting how highly regarded Wojo is by people that make a living writing about basketball.
Take a look at one of Doug Gotleib's mock drafts. Just because someone makes a living writing about basketball, doesn't automatically make their opinion better than an educated basketball fans'.
And Manning as the 78th best assistant coach out there....I don't think he would've just gotten hired if he was actually worse then guys on Self's staff such as Kurtis and Dooley.....Norm Roberts is back at KU though so they should probably fix that up.
Tony Parker also said that he was concerned about going to Ohio St, because Jared Sullinger lost weight.
Parker just commited to UCLA, looks like he rather be like Josh Smith and Sullinger.
wrong thread,....my computer betrayed me :(

"What can a 5-6 guard teach me?" Tony Parker was quoted as saying this recently, which cant bode well for Duke fans as he makes his college decision today. I was wondering why Wojo teaches Duke's big men and if this is a reason why Duke has missed out on signing top big men the past couple of years.
