Came across a random thought.
European basketball is better known for its team concept and player fundamentals.
US basketball is better known for player's individual skill set and athleticism.
Would it be a realistic approach for European nations to scout less talented american players at an young age and develop and influence them, with the European style of play and coaching?
If well planned and done with purpose, the thought of players with European fundamentals plus explosive agility and athleticism of the US players would make basketball a very interesting sport in 10-15 years time.
Any thoughts please?
It's not like Europeans have a lockdown on their playbooks/methods. Coaches travel to learn new techniques every offseason. Honestly I don't see how the Spurs are that much different than Euro ball.
