WVU Kevin Jones Stock Rising 3 Double Doubles in the last 4 games

3 double doudles in last 4 games and much improve recent play has gotten the attention of a lot of scouts. " He started off a little slower than may thought but he's a very strong kid with a lot of heart. A warrior and he knows how to play the game and is playing great basketball right now. He is a mismatch on both sides of the floor and really good pick in pop guy at the next level"

KJ

I don't know if he can play in the league. I am a huge WVU fan and have probably watched 95% of KJ's games in his college career and i just don't think he can make it. Although he does play his ass off, he doesn't have the explosiveness, speed, athleticism, etc. He plays below the rim and i think at the pre draft camps his measurements in vertical will not be good at all. He does hit the 18 footer really well though, so maybe you are right about being a good pick and pop player. I hope he gets a chance.

He has length which is a huge

He has length which is a huge NBA asset as a defender but as mentioned he's not skilled enough and is too much of a tweener. A comparable guy is Gary Johnson. Good college players, limited pro potential. At best an end of the bench type guy.

Actually KJ is the kind of

Actually KJ is the kind of guy who will more than likely do good in pre-darft workouts. As he is the type of guy who doesn't always utilize his athleticism in game. He's just too small to ever be expected to be much of a pick and pop guy at the next level. His best bet is to keep working on that spot up J and hoper he cn learn to defend the perimeter better. He'll get drafted off of his winning pedigree and perceived defensive/hustle potential. A team will probably take him in hopes he may be able to use his bulk nicely against the LBJ's and Melo's of the league. He really reminds me of a less athletic Devean George.

And i am from WV so I've seen

And i am from WV so I've seen KJ enough times to make an honest analysis. KJ was definitely the real X-Factor for the mountaineers last year. Butler was te go to guy, Ebanks the stopper, but KJ was the guy you knew if he was playing god hitting his J's more than likely WVU was ballin'.

I love seeing all of these

I love seeing all of these WVU fans.. For like 2 years, I was the only one.. I guess winning changes everything.. AND, everyone will swear that they have always been WVU fans but whatever...

I look at it like this... KJ is a better version of Bran Scalabrine.... He works hard, shoots well, and does the small things that dont show up in the stat sheet but do produce wins...

HaHa. Nice 8. Pretty funny.

HaHa. Nice 8. Pretty funny. But I think he has a slightly better ceiling than Scal. Jones' rebounding will translate well IMO. And will be able to D up a few guys nicely. Kinda think Ron Artest NOW with slightly better rebounding. Gets burnt by most quicker players but will be able to D up A few stronger players with his physicality. Ultimately even with his strong effort he will give up quite a few baskets. So in that regard I agree he is very Scalabrine/Cardinal like.

Agreed it's nice that WVU is get some love finally. Can't wait to see them get couple actually good recruits. Whiteside would have been nice there with last years crew. This year's team seemed completely comprised of headcases. I really thought Mitchell had been playing nice at the begining of the season but man he's really shown his issues. They definitely have the right idea with their recruiting though, gettin tough, hard-nosed guys who don't back down from challenge's and embrace the underdog role.

Kevin Jones plays with a

Kevin Jones plays with a SUPER high energy level, but he's not very talented or athletic from an NBA standpoint, and he is a tweener. He at best will be a pick and pop guy who gets hustle baskets and rebounds well on the offensive glass.

Which is exactly what Ron

Which is exactly what Ron Artest has become. I've not seen a starting SF with such a poor handle since Rick Fox was injured and Devean George got the start for LAL.

JNixon, I'm not sure if Jones is big enough or long enough to really get significant burn. He's like Elias Harris who will have trouble making it himself, while Jones doesn't even have nice explosiveness to fall back on.

Realistically, he should stay 4 years and get a degree then go to Europe for a while. The more I see him, and the longer I have to find negatives, the more I think he just isn't going to be suited for the NBA. He absolutely MUST develop his perimeter game to last. His J isn't even realy reliable enough to be a consistent pick and pop threat in the NBA.

Huggins has finnaly gotten

Huggins has finnaly gotten some players to play like he wants to.. They are coming next year.. He has like 5 recruits... That PG he is getting is going to be a stud... The kid is from the same school ask KJ... Mt. Vernon I think.. They are going to be a different team in 2 years..

Also, did you all know that WVU is playing one of the toughest schedules in America?? It is the toughest schedule in school history with one of the worst teams in the Big East... LoL... He is a great coach and I think that he has done an amazing job putting guys in their place (Like Mitchel) and putting guys in the right place to showcase their talents (Joe Alexander, Da'Sean Butler).

@8th Deadly

ain't it he's such an awesome coach....last year he had a team that didn't fit him at all and didn't complain he just took them to the final four....and he would be one of the favorites in my NCAA coaches MMA tourney....

I also think that he could

I also think that he could out drink most coaches in America... Gotta be able to laugh at your own team right?? I think he has done a great job.. With the win today, is the quickest coach to get to 100 wins in WVU history... Just keeps setting records!

Bryant, Mitchel, Mazzula,

Bryant, Mitchel, Mazzula, Kilicli??

LoL.. I think that The Big Turk is going to be a huge factor for us come NCAA time.. If he can give us a good 20-25 min off the bench, we could be a sleeper!
