PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantThis coming season is a contract year for Zach Randolph… that being said what’s his value, what can he expect in way of his next contract (the last contract he signed was comparable to Pau Gasol’s/he won’t get it.)? He has put out 8 straight years of excellent stats.

TRC1991Participantthose 8 solid years of stats have also come with a lifetime of off the court problems

llperezteams will be afraid to give him a big long term deal. It wouldnt surprise me if the only way he got over 11-12 mill was if it was a 2 year thing. BUt he did have his best season last year and if he does keep his attitude in check, he will be one of the top free agents next year.

TRC1991Participantthat being said, i think he is a step down from a max contract simply because hes not THAT young anymore…hes 29 im expecting a 5 year/60 mil contract

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantYes he has had his share of “off the court” (and in court) behavior problems and that is a large part of why I ask the question.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantTeams will be concerned (and rightly so) with giving him the long term contract, but will he receive one any way with all the teams expected to have caproom again?

llperezprobably. When you have 30 teams competing against each other, all it takes is one team to overpay. If rudy gay is a max player, Zbo could get a solid deal out there still.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantIn Memphis they are giving Mayo, Gay and Gasol credit for Randolphs numbers… It doesn’t quite seem right considering he has had similar numbers for 7 years prior.

llperezi thought zach was their mvp last year. In fact scratch that, i know he was their mvp last year.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantI thought the same… he seemed to be the only real change from the previous season.

llperezi picked him up with like the 58th pick in my fantasy league last year, i was happy.

ChrischiParticipantyeah he was
but Mayo, Gay and Gasol and maybe even Conley have upside so you have to decide if you give Z-Bo a huge contract, or if you keep the money and share it btw the other guys

sheltwon3ParticipantThe question is who has the money and the need. He would have gotten a max contract in this years market but next years, maybe not so much. If Melo goes to Knicks though maybe Denver give him over 12 plus to replace Melo and Martin and give them some size. I am not saying that he could replace both these player or even one of them cept maybe Martin who he is better than but he could be their go to scorer and power forward replacing both these guys roles on that team.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantHe plays less defense than anyone i’ve ever seen. except for maybe Eddy Curry. That was a great front court tandem.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantRandolph said on a TV interview to WPTY aMemphis station tuesday he loves Memphis..And he’s willing to take a pay cut…
he makes 17 million now..He said he’s willing to play for 10 to 15 million..Thats if the team can sign him to an extension before the season ends…He said with Rudy signed he hopes the team can keep Gasol & Mayo also..I was shocked to hear that come out of his mouth0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/04/2010 - 6:56pm #368056
ChrischiParticipantwow, that would be huge for Memphis
