Zach LaVine is a 6’5 combo guard who will be playing this season at UCLA. What do u guys know about him? How good is he? Whats his potential? This site has him compared to Westbrook, which doesn’t seem to be far off since they were late bloomers who are Elite athletes yet not quite a point guard. He could be a a future lottery pick in 2015 or so.

Here is a highlight tape of him, he has Ridiculous Bounce, you could see him in future NBA dunk contests.

If you watch more highlights of him, you can see how good of a player he really is. I think he is the most underrated player in the class. He has great size at 6’5 with very long arms. He is also freakishly athletic and smooth. He makes the game look effortless. He has a very good handle which is not shown in any of his highlights. He also has a very good shot, even though his mechanics are somewhat awkward. The only thing i question is his passing ability. I have watched a ton of footage on him and he does not standout as a passer, though I may be wrong. Its hard to tell what his NBA potential looks like because he hasnt played a game of college yet, but I am extremely excited to see him play

him live a few times over the past 2 years in camp settings (Pangos, Nations). First off, he is really nice kid and his family was very nice and very supportive of him. Secondly, he is an excellent athlete and has a really smooth J that doesn’t go in as much as it appears it should. That is probably something that will get more consistent over the next few years. I don’t like the Westbrook comparison for a few reasons. For one, Westbrook and LaVine have very different bodies. LaVine is a long, lanky athlete who is far more finesse than power. Additionally, LaVine is custom built for the 2 guard in both game and body. In a small line-up I would even consider playing him at the 3 because of his athleticism. He is very smooth player who will only get better with a college-level strength and conditioning program. Makes me think of a more athletic Klay Thompson, actually.

saw him over a dozen times and played against him twice… one of the best strokes in the country and athleticsm and coordination is very smooth, but he is pretty soft taking hits on the way to the rim and weak as a college level defender.

He reminds me of JR Smith. Very flashy, i wanna see how UCLA uses him because they have KA, Powell, Adams and The two coaches Son’s who are also guards. We will see
