Kansas State coach Frank Martin announced Monday that sophomore forward Wally Judge has left the Wildcats' basketball team.
"Wally quit the team today," Martin said, according to the Kansas City Star. "He's not happy. I kinda saw it coming because of some of his emotional situations. He just has not been enjoying it."
Judge had played in 17 games this season, averaging 5.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 15.2 minutes. He had also missed five games for either personal or disciplinary reasons, according to Topeka Capital-Journal.
Judge's departure is the latest batch of bad news for Kansas State, which has lost five of its last seven games, including a 90-66 defeat at the hands of in-state rival Kansas on Saturday.
After that loss, senior guard Jacob Pullen spoke out about the Wildcats' issues, saying: "We don't execute. We come out of timeouts and don't know what we're doing … We've got to do a lot of things. We've got to be able to compete. If we can't compete there's no reason for us to even go out there and waste our time."
With another jolt to the lineup and a critical stretch to the season ahead, Kansas State doesn't have a lot of time to right the ship.
