Michigan State's Keith Appling saw his right shoulder 'pop out' against Minnesota

Michigan State's Keith Appling (11) passes to Gary Harris during their game against Minnesota at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Wednesday, Feb. 6. Michigan State won the game, 61-50.

EAST LANSING -- Michigan State guard Keith Appling suffered a right shoulder injury when it "popped out" in the second half of the Spartans' 61-50 win against Minnesota.

Appling had 14 points, four rebounds, three steals and three assists before going down after grabbing the arm of Minnesota's Joe Coleman with 1:17 left and briefly leaving the court to be examined.

"He was screaming," Izzo said.

Izzo wasn't sure of Appling's status going forward, but said he hoped that because the shoulder was popped back into place quickly that it "didn't stretch everything."

Appling said the injury was not serious and that he could have finished the game, but wasn't allowed to do so.

"I was a little scared because I've never felt nothing like that before," Appling said.

Branden Dawson also suffered an ankle injury, and Adreian Payne might have suffered a broken nose, according to Izzo.
