i say no , his form is too mechanic and a downgrade from the way he shot in his H.S days it looked much more comfortable look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T88eyEAql6c not only does it look better but it looks more effective too his jumper now is behind of his head sort of and the H.S one is right above his right eye where it should be,
Compare the jumper in that video to this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTK6WVSWp6E&feature=related
You want a high release point on your jumper. He could get away with it in high school, but in the NBA, it is a different ball game. As far as form is concerned, I think his is fine, he sees it on release and it is very difficult to defend, not to mention he has the mechanics down. He may not have even close to the best jumper in the league and will improve with time, but he makes shots when defended in tight spaces that many players do not (similar to Kobe, Tracy McGrady when he was healthy). I would say he takes time on his shot in space, which the Knicks were giving him in those situations. Two players with extremely unorthodox almost over the head forms are Kevin Garnett and Rasheed Wallace. Both of those guys are ridiculously hard to defend. Larry Bird had a behind the head shot, and he to me is the all time premier shooter in basketball. I think LeBron's shot is just fine and much improved from high school, his percentages seem to prove it.
We can't say he will improve with time anymore .....he is a veteran you have to remember he played enough years in the league......he shots not going to change, he will shoot like that for ever.I don't see him as a bad shooter, but since he is a great player everybody expects he will become the best at everthing. I think he will shoot the same way, and probably improve a little bit nothing big
Your shot over time does not get worse Guru. You may not get as many open looks due to a loss of athleticism, but old men shoot the hell out of a basketball. The more reps you take, the better you get and that is why I am sure LeBron's shot will improve, as he is committed to being the best basketball player he can be. He is not going to get worse, I will put it that way, and he is definitely improved from HS.
no his jumper is bad... but who needs a jumper when no one can keep you from getting to the glass?? hes a beast and he can put thirty on you without a single jumper
his jumper might have gotten better since high school, but his form has definitely gotten worse... i think this might because he has gained muscle mass and gotten bigger... i have noticed the same thing in my shot since high school... i used to only weigh around 165 lbs, and the form on my shot was excellent (and my shot was much better then)... since then, i have gained almost 25 lbs on muscle (much of it upper body) and the form on my shot has gotten worse in much the same way lebron has... my elbow sticks out and i bring the ball much higher and above my head than i used to, similar to lebron's current shot...
i knew it. his form is alot worse it looks bad, i will never work out a ton again
His jumper has always been streaky, Ive seen him hit ridiculous jumper's time and time again. Its not holding him back so its not a problem. A great jumper would just be icing on the cake
