who would you rather have?
Were still on this?
Rondo .
Parker...Better scorer. I trust Parker in the clutch more than Rondo. Also, Parker is actually a good mid range shooter and is a solid FT shooter...Unlike Rondo.
Rondo is a slightly better play maker and defender.
sup bird, this is a good post. i'm gonna give the playmaker ability and defense to rondo, but as far as speed and scoring, i'm gonna give it to parker. if we go by maturity, i also give that to parker. thus, maturity will help with clutch, which i think parker was better in that area as well. Parker also has the ability to get points...anywhere..and not just driving through the lane, he use to be like that until he developed some perimeter game.
I'll take Parker. he was the mvp of the finals and is an explosive scorer. Defenses can't leave Parker alone to help out on other guys like they do with Rondo, and that makes a huge difference.
Parker has the experience, the jumper and isn't the athlete as Rondo, but is a smarter player. I've heard Rondo isn't the best locker room guy either and Parker is a team player.
I rather Rondo personally, because he has more things going for him. He's the better defender, passer, and he is faster (I really believe so) and more athletic with a much bigger upside. Parker is the better scorer and shooter and is more clutch, but I feel head-to-head Rondo would come out on top.
I think it's more of a toss-up... I'd only take Parker because he is more clutch and has the experience to prove it, but it could be because he's one of my favorite PGs, lol...
Still, you can't deny that Rondo is a much better defender and rebounder...

The bad things?
Parker's been slowed by injuries lately, and Rondo doesn't have the best reputation for being cooperative..
Neither! I hate them both of them with a passion. Parker is better IMO though. Still wouldn't want either.
at least your honest. Is it because their teams, or because of them that you dislike them?
For Parker, it's his team. I absolutely despise the Spurs (I'm a Suns fan, enough said haha) and he is just the latest player on that team I hate with a passion. For Rondo it is both, I hate the Celtics but I liked Rondo before their championship year, then to me at least, he became one of if not the dirtiest player in the league. Give me someone like Rose or Westbrook, Rondo and Parker can go play for someone else.
Another player I used to like, now I hate him too. I never realized how annoying he was and how dirty he is too.

Look at the block, completely unnecessary, then Amare grabs his hand to pull him up and he like shoves Amare. What a dick.
There is a difference between being competitive and just being a dick.
I gotta gree with yupyup on this. True as a laker fan i naturally don't like the celtics, but i really can't stand rondo or KG. KG always acts tough with dudes that he knows won't fight back. He punched rick rickert at practice, he gets in calderon's face, but when anthony Peeler hits him right in the mouth, he stands there like wtf? Also, that "anything is possible" was just unnatural and gay. Rondo has gotten dirty too. Him throwing Hinrich out of bounds did'nt even recieve anything. Plus I honestly think he is overrated. He did nothing his rookie year, but as soon as you add multiple hall of famers around him who can disguise his downsides, he is all the sudden amazing? You people do realize that teams are hoping he shoots and leaving him alone right?
yeah, I aint trying to be a rondo hater, but I agree with all the stuff you've been saying about him. There's probably 20 pg's who get no love around the league that would love to be in Rondo's spot. I'm not saying he sucks, I have him ranked as the 9th or 10th best pg going into next year, but I've heard people calling him the best. QHaynes said the other day that Rondo should have been the number one pick over Roy if they were to redo that draft. I'm just not feeling him like that.

Agreed though I do like KG's passion and Rondo's style of play, and I hate Paul Pierce he is one cocky M-Fer
I also hate Pierce.
Allen is the only one I really dont dislike, he is a good guy, not a dirty player, quiet, he has a nice personality, but I could care less for Pierce mostly, Rondo sorta and KG sorta
I really don't know who I would rather have between the two. I think that if they switched teams they would do just as well as they did with their former team.
And as for the Celtics, I'm a huge Ray Allen fan and I wish he would start taking more shots and start to look like the old Ray Ray. I never have liked Paul Pierce, his game is not fun to watch at all and I have no respect for him after the quote he had a couple years back saying he was the best in the game.
If we're picking as of right now, I'm going with Tony Parker and it's easy. He has a more complete offensive game, while also having the ability to run a team and create for his teammates. Parker is a better leader, teammate and accepts coaching. Rondo is talented, but thinks his sh*t doesn't stink.
Tony Parker,, Definately
TOny Parker has already won 3 championsips to rondos 1
he is a better scorer
better passer/playmaker
Parker has also already had a finals MVP
and has already been to all-star games
I know you probably like Rondo's swag and style of play, but let's not confuse all that with effectiveness. He's talented and has the POTENTIAL to be better than Parker, but he's not right now... Nor will he be in the next few seasons. I don't ever see Rondo having a complete offensive game like Parker or the leadership abilities. Rondo doesn't accept coaching very well. Why else was Boston about to ship his ass out? He had the same problems at Kentucky. Rondo's not even a top five point guard. The top five are CP3, D. Will, Billups, Parker and Nash... You can arrange and re-arrange the order anyway you'd like, but those are the top five as of today. Rondo is in the top ten, but it's a little pre-mature to say he's better than Parker or even will be in the next few seasons. Parker is still young himself and entering his prime. He basically carries San Antonio now with Duncan declining and Manu always being injured.
Yeah Ray Allen is a good player and I am a fan of him. I mean how can you not like the guy? He is quiet, polite, never complains, coachable and just does his job. When he scored 51 in the playoffs against the Bulls (not sure but it was over 50) he didn't go out and brag to the press or anything he just came back the next game and did his stuff. Top 2 shooter ever also.
Rondo's potential just depends on him. TALENT wise... He has as much as any point guard in the NBA. I mean, the only thing he can't really do well is shoot. He does everything else really well. I think he's arguably the best defensive point guard in the NBA right now.
My problem with Rondo is his maturity and leadership ability. When you're so arrogant and over confident that you can't be coached to the fullest, that's a problem. That puts a limit on his potential in my opinion. He had the same problems at Kentucky. Like I said earlier... He thinks his sh*t doesn't stink. I can't count how many times I saw him arguing back in forth with Ray Allen (a veteran who knows 100 times more about ball than him) on the court.
IF/WHEN he matures and strengthens his leadership ability, then I think he could be a top five point guard. I think he could be in competition with Rose as the next point guard to be mentioned in the same breath as CP3 and D. Will. Right now, Rose is more mature and coachable, so in my opinion... He'll be the next point guard to be mentioned with CP3 and D. Will.

Rajon Rando, or Tony Parker?
