Who ya got for 3 point and dunk contest?
shannon brown for dunk
the 3pt shootout, i would rank them:
1-channing fye
2-daquean cook
3-chauncey billups
4-steph curry
5-danillo gallinari
6-paul pierce
i actually have a 25$ bet down against my brother in law and i have frye, billups and pierce.
I have 200 on Gerald Wallace, and 100 curry wins the first round. Doubt he'll win the contest though, prob tire out towards the end. 3 point contests can be tough to predict because someone can be on or off that day, or for one round.
Shooting Stars: Texas, though I love that CWeb is rocking a headband.
Skills: Brandon Jennings
3 point: Paul Pierce
Dunk: Nate Robinson
Steve Nash - Skills Challenge
Nate Robinson - Dunk Contest
Paul Pierce - 3 Pt. Shooting Contest
Also I guessed Texas in the shooting stars thing, but you're just going to have to trust me there.
Who saw that one coming...Paul Pierce took the 3-point contest
BothTeamsPlayedHard called it
I love your edits!
(Hehehe)
dino didnt look to good..paul is delusional "im on of the best shooters in nba history"..and after watching the first round of the dunk contest i turned back to the kentucky game
man, you have to put list of the 3pt shootout, but reverse it. I had frye winning with pierce finishing last. And brown, you let me down big time. I've seen him do better dunks in games. And barkley is crazy if he thinks pierce isn't even a top 10 celtic and behind Dennis Johnson.
i was laughing at barkley saying, "you notice gatorade doesn't help people who suck. It works for wade, lebron, tiger and peyton, but it didn't do nothing for Leroy." good stuff.
Shannon Brown just lost me some money with those bullshyt attempts....
He does better dunks than that on the fastbreak...that one with Kobe was a basic alley-oop...
Im torn between Nate & Derozan, but I think the rook prevails
yeah, i can't say top 5 for sure or not with pierce. But top 10 for sure. McHale might be better, but he was never the best player on the celtics. You could put kevin ahead of paul, but to act like it is obvious is wrong.
nice camera work tnt. They flash to gerald wallace's face right while derozan is dunking so we missed it.
i said weeks ago that the dunk contest should be every other year. This gives more time to come up with stuff and get the fans in anticipation. Almost everyone on here disagreed with me though.
this is quite possibly the worst dunk contest ever and tnt just cut to gerald wallace while derozan was dunking. horrible. i have been the biggest dunk contest fan for years but until we get some big names in here i dont know if i will come back to it. Nate robinson's last dunk was pretty sick but i think everyone will agree that it has been disappointing. i hope the game is good tomorrow.
I'd have to agree with you... This is just disappointing. Eric Gordon was better than Gerald Wallace and Shannon Brown...
I think DeRozan is overrated as a dunker.
Nate is the winner...
wow that dunk contest was crap
I like the dunk contest.....without it these all-star weekend saturdays would be pointless..
Lets be real, would u rather watch some guy shoot 25 3-pointers and watch a point guard bounce a basketball or watch a couple "creative" dunks?
man im pissed. nobody brought anything to this contest. CALLING ALL GREAT PLAYERS THIS DUNK CONTEST NEEDS YOU.
WAKE UP LEBRON, ANDRE IGUODALA, JOSH SMITH, DERRICK ROSE, RUSSELL WESTBROOK THIS CONTEST NEEDS ATHLETES AND STARS OR UP AND COMING STARS LIKE YOU.
Seriously, Derrick Rose's dunk on Gragic and alley oop vs the hawks were better than all the dunks I saw tonight. Hell I know Lebron isnt really a contest dunker but Id rather see him do his regular 1 handed dunk with his head above the rim. Im so pissed, this has been a terrible basketball weekend so far, IMO. Charles Barkley is hilarious though. He said Maybe nobody will win.
A lot of people clowned Eric Gordon, but I promise his dunks were better than Shannon Brown's and Gerald Wallace's. I mean, can you believe this... Shannon Brown ran full court and just did a regular dunk lol. Was this a joke?
i thouhgt wallace was the worst. Brown was terrible, but still a little better then wallace. And yeah, Gordon did better then both of them. But overall, everyone sucked. I thought derozan's off the side of the backboard windmill was the best by far. The only memorable dunk. I would expect this if you just grabbed nba players out of the crowd and they had no time to plan anything. Does anyone know where we can see the dunk contest from the non nba players?
That could've very well been the most horrible dunk contest ever in the history of Earth..I agree with Tezo, I think Derozan is a very good dunker, but he is pretty overrated.
Shannon Brown was just horrible. He had no creativity. If I had that leaping ability, I would have dunks for days. Same with Gerald Wallace.
Oh my Goodness, I just thought about how horrible the contest was again
I'm still in shock at how horrible this was... Left a nasty taste in my mouth. DeRozan's dunk off the side of the backboard was coo, but I thought the off the side of the backboard Rudy Fernandez did last season was better...
Shannon Brown... He looked like a deer in the headlights out there... He just jumps high. No creativity. He ran full court and did a regular dunk. Wow... Gerald Wallace was horrible LOL.
The Shannon Brown dunk where he switched hands in the air and dunked it is much more difficult than it looked, especially given that he made the switch at the top of his jump. It wasn't great, but most guys in the league couldn't do it. Some dunks are just more difficult than they look. J.R. Smith bringing the ball around his back and dunking didn't get enough appreciation. Gerald Green going between his legs in his socks was still the craziest thing I have ever seen, and it got yawns.
Nate's big appeal in the contest is that he is so short and just gets up so high that it just looks really good. Dwight Howard dunks on a 12-foot rim doesn't get as much love despite the fact that he has to jump just as high as Nate. Go figure.
yeah, shannons full court dunk wasn't just a basic dunk. But still, he could have done so much more.
like i said in the other post its not there fault its ours. we have seen so many great dunks that barely anything excites us anymore...a couple of yerars ago some of those dunks would have had us in awe. and that switch in the air dunk brown did is very hard , but we have seen so many great dunks its nothing to us anymore. a dunk from the free throw line would have made us yawn these days and thats not a easy dunk. we are spoiled
Okay... Shannon Brown's full court dunk wasn't a basic dunk, but did he really have to run full court to do that? He made us think he was about to jump from the free-throw line or something...
yea that seemed a bit unnessesary. but as a dunker i do know you need space to dunk from that far without switching hands so i can imagin having to switch hands. now that i think about it all that space seems about right

I got my boy Gallinari winning the shootout, yea Im a little bias but he can really shoot the lights out, plus he won a shootout competition when he was in Italy.
And I think Shannon Brown is gonna come away with the slam dunk championship.
