watching a kentucky game one of the announcers said 43 inches it probably 35-39 inches i dont think he jumps higher than rose just my opinion

besides nate i dont think any guard in the nba jumps or will jump higher then rose i watched the cornell game and wall was on a fast break and he look like a avg long armed guard who can jump his vert has to be at least 35in

I agree dolla130 wall is super athletic but i dont think he jumos higher than rose i havent seen a guard as explosive as rose since sten francis in his early rockets days in his prime i read francis had a 43 inch vert

It doesn't matter because he plays more athletic than any other point guard I've ever seen, including Rose, Davis and Francis.

imo i think people overrate his explosiveness, dont get me wrong the kid is explosive but he hasn't played anyone in college who could match his speed so we dont really know how fast he is and he dosent look like he jumps the way people make it seem , imo i think rose is the guard version of lebron james as far as explosiveness and to me wall isnt that

wall is athletic but more than rose or francis let me refresh yall memories his vert will be 37-40 no more it want be more than 42 thats more than lebron thats vince carter and james white numbers

I didn't say he was more athletic, I said he plays more athletic. What's the point of being athletic if you are a gaping *radio edit* like JR Smith or Nick Young.

Rose has a 40" vert and I don't think Wall gets up higher then him, at least from what I have seen.

Wall's head never seems to be above the rim like Rose, he relies more on his long wingspan.

Yeah wall can jump but because his arms so long he looks like he's higher than what he really is

Yea I think he'll get like 39 or 40 on the 2-step vertical, and maybe 36 or 37 on the no-step. Just a wild guess.

He's a nasty leaper when he gets a head start, but he's just above average in standstill jumps from what it seems. He doesn't have to have a great leaping ability, because he's so long too. Just so happens that he does.

I agree iggy John Wall is a grea tplayer but people overrated alot of aspect of his game yeah when he running he can jump with the best of them but as far as jumping off vert he's an average leaper im not saying he cany jump he can but he's not no where about 43 what some guy said earlier post

james white's is 46

wall's is at best like 41 inches. . but it doesn't matter because he's the #1 pick unless he gets both his legs amputated off. .

Exactly. If you watch Travis Leslie of Georgia, he has a 43 inch vertical, and I promise you he is a better leaper than Wall is.

I expect Wall's leaping numbers to be similar to those put up by Demar DeRozan at the combine last season. Good, but worse than you thought because of their length.

The combine doesn't mean anything. Serge Ibaka had a 33 inch vert and Monta Ellis tested out as the second worst athlete in his draft class.

It is hard tell a guy's vertical leap by watching games. None can jump to exactly their highest. Wall is 3 inches taller than Rose if he really is 6'4" so his vertical may be lower, but his reach higher.

vert dont mean anything look at the leading rookie of the year candidates tyreke evans and stephen curry neither them can jump out of the gym but they know how to play and get the job done. when jordan was young and dunking on evrybody his teams always lost in the first round because he was just athletic and had no jumper but when he got older and start beating teams with his jumpshot and smarts rather than his athletic ability he had two 3 peats as world champions

I don't doubt that Wall could probably measure a 44 inch vertical... I mean, OJ Mayo trained and measured a 41 inch vertical at the draft camp. Mike Conley has also measured a 40 inch vertical. In my opinion, Wall will probably measure around 38-40 though.

I think Rose has a higher Vert, but Wall gets up higher based on his longer hands and tall frame.
Rose is more explosive meaning he gets off the ground quicker than Rose.
Both are unbelievable athletics for their position.

if wall even breaks 40...some of you guys really seem to forget how high a 40+ inch vert is. Walls athletic but hes not out there doing vince carter/shannon brown type dunks.Just doin reverse and things like that don't instantly mean you have a 40 inch vert. I'd say he's high 30s at most considering none of his dunks have ever really wow'd me. Wall is just a long athlete as opposed to rose who is a way better leaper but also muscular.

Does Wall really weigh 195 because he looks frail and they list Rose at 190 ; he's more toned & muscular.

pretty much they all test..from the eye test i can honestly say 43 is pushing it ...38-40 seems alot more likely. most guys at his height and his long arms and his ability to get to the rim would be getting alot more dunks with a 43 inch vert

i was at the bulls knicks game this year and i walked past rose commin out of the garden about to get on the bus and im 6'1 and he is taller then me......
